Senco PC1010 1/2- Horsepower 1-Gallon Matte Finish and Trim Portable Hot Dog Air Compressor, Gray/Red

Very quiet for an air compressor. I have a 6.25HP compressor for big jobs and most air tools. It is way too loud, large, heavy and awkward for use on finishing jobs, and can be a PIA for little stuff, like inflating bike tires (careful, it will blow them right off the rims). For years I used a hand pump for bikes and yard tools. Recently doing a lot of renovation on our 1913 built house I have been using my finish nailer and rigging in hoses across the yard, through the door and across the house was annoying to say the least. The last thing I wanted was a screaming monster further damaging what hearing I have left and scaring the pugs. This unit with a little self coil hose follows me room to room, runs my Senco finish mailer perfectly with a regulator built in. I will revise my review if it fails later, but so far this is the best small compressor I have seen run first hand.

This is a very small capacity compressor for intermittent air demand. I mostly use it in my home woodshop for running a brad nailer. It does that very well. And I use it to clear dust from my projects for gluing, etc. Its very good for adding a few pounds of air to a car tire. Compared with many compressors, it is very quiet. Its also incredibly light and portable. Seems to be of good quality. No leaks. It will fire a few nails from a large framing nailer, then needs to recharge. For around my home, I like it a lot.

Sweet little air compressor. This is perfect for doing trim and assembly work, airing up tires, using as a blower, basically 90% of what you will ever need if you are not a professional contractor or mechanic. This will not drive a framing nailer for an entire building, but it WILL drive a framing nailer if you only need it for a couple shots at a time. Basically, for home use this is good enough for almost everything and it has a lot of big advantages over larger compressors in that its WAY lighter, easier to carry, and super quiet. It is the kind of thing that is very easy to take out to the driveway to air up your tires, or bring into your office to blow out your computer case, or any number of other similar small jobs you would not want to do with a large compressor. It will still do just about everything as long as you arent in a hurry. So if you are a hobby/home user and you are sure you wont need to do any very large jobs, or you can borrow a big one for those jobs, this thing is awesome for everything else. Fit and finish looks very nice, does not feel cheap. Overall very happy with this purchase.

Everything about this product looks Top quality, from the craftsmanship, to the parts used... this should be the last air compressor I buy; should take care of all my needs... I purchased for my plasma cutter (worked great!) If your looking for a small, QUIET & trustworthy compressor, & want piece of mind, then I highly recommend this one! My pc is almost as loud as this compressor... your average box fan is substantially louder! I could run this in the living room, right beside the TV, & no-one would bat an eye, seriously!

This is a great compressor. I install cabinets for a living and this compressor does everything I need. It is light weight and has plenty of pressure. I have bought two over the years and highly recommend it.

This little powerhouse was just what I was looking for in the shop. I do small shop woodworking and lot of DIY on the house. Maneuvering a pancake compressor around the dining room and living room is a big pain plus it can result in annoying red marks all over everything. You reno guys know what I mean. And I havent even addressed the issue of noise. This little compressor is perfect for shooting a few pins or brads in the shop or resetting that pesky piece of recalcitrant molding. It is amazingly quiet, well built, and light. No, you wont have enough firepower to frame a wall or put up five hundred feet of crown molding, but it works wonders on the little jobs. I keep it tucked under my woodworking bench where it sits like a good soldier, ready to spring into action. I still have my larger compressor for the big jobs, but I turn to this little guy first. And I can still hear the shop stereo or my wifes call to supper while its running.

Im an aging finish carpenter. My younger colleague showed up with this cute compressor to run his pin nailer for a kitchen cabinet crown installation and it seemed to do fine. So I bought one to save my aching body some of the pains of portage. I figured that since Im a guy whose colleagues have always teased about doing damn nice work---and not much of it, it would be perfect for my slow pace and intricate work. However, handy as it was to lug on site, it didnt seem to keep up very well, possibly due to a leak I could not locate. It also seemed to make a very tinny sound when running --- I kept feeling like Id discover a loose fastener somewhere in the motor! Anyway, I didnt spend the little money involved for the privilege of doing detective/mechanic work, so I returned it and looked into other options. Glad I did! Bostitch offers a similarly designed model with only slightly greater size and weight, but twice the technical specs across the board. I bought Bostitch Trim Air (model CAP1512‑OF) for about $120 at Menards. (Oddly, this in-store price was much better than any I could find online!) Absolutely great little compressor, readily keeping pace with my pin nailer and my Senco Finish Pro 41 finish gun. These little compressors kick on a lot by design (tiny tank), but this one really gets the job done. BTW, the young guy who bought --- and is generally happy with --- Senco PC1010says he wished he had found the Bostitch before he bought the Senco. And FYI, this current review is from a professional carpenter who has stuck with Senco for all air guns for four decades. BUY BOSTITCH CAP1512-OF.

I purchased this model based on web search results showing it to be the quietest (69dB) small (1 CFM) air compressor on the market, and generally high satisfaction of other owners. It is indeed very quiet, well made, and lightweight. Ive mounted this compressor in an acoustic chamber that I designed to further reduce the noise, and it is now as quiet as the super silent compressors used for indoor craftwork (airbrushing) that cost $600 to $1000 (49dB). At this further muffled sound level, I can operate the unit all day long sitting next to me without discomfort. I highly recommend this model for indoor craft work. Ive used mine for 40 to 50 hours and had no troubles, but feel this unit will hold up for a long time. I will use this in my home for a few hours per day.
