SENNHEISER HD 599 Open Back Headphone, Ivory

These cans are amazing! The sound quality is crisp, clear, no distortion, and covers the whole spectrum, hi to low. Im using them for live recording (Keyboards/Synths) and the range on these are incredible. They sound better than my Bose cans.

These are open back, so I never use them outside my home. They sound wonderful and comfortable as hell.

Very comfortable and light. Clear and very detailed. These are very neutral headphones. The bass is tight and punchy but not overwhelming. The sound is very direct but not as warm as some other headphones. The sound staging is quite open and clarity is exceptional. Overall they are well balanced. They are open back so sound will leak like crazy but thats what makes them sound so good. Just note that out of the box they sound very muddy. You need to listen to them for quite a few hours before their true sound comes thru.

These do exactly what sennheiser promises. An introduction to audio nirvana. No colouring by the drivers just pure music. Do not listen to poor recordings as these will highlight the poor quality immediately. I also use these for FPS gaming and for this it is great as well. Quiet sounds are delicate and well placed while explosions are thunderous.

They can be used for anything. I got them 50% off on Prime day but I feel I robbed Amazon for how good these are. Im no audiophile but I love them for gaming. They dont come with a mic but I already have that covered in my specific set up.

The headphones sound great but I could not wear them for more than 30 minutes due to clamping force hurting my ears. YMMV as everyone’s ears are different. Unfortunately for me they are going back due to how uncomfortable they are.

Listening with headphones which go someway to what audiophiles take for granted is a real pleasure. Hearing nuances of sharpness cymbals and natural sound sibilances of peoples voices in song or verbal creates a real affinity between these headphones ear and brain. Thoroughly recommend these to anyone who wishes to step into the world of audiophiles on a budget. I listen a very broad genre of music. Thanks Amazon for a good deal too.

I upgraded to these from the Sennheiser HD 558s. Its been a mostly positive experience.
