Sennheiser Professional HD 280 PRO Over-Ear Monitoring Headphones

These headphones do not disappoint. I pulled them out of the package and was glad to see how sturdily built they are. They sound great, with good, crisp highs and lows. A good burn in will improve the bass alot. The noise cancelation with these is great and they dont leak much at all unless you crank them up insanley high. You might find them to be a bit tight, just break them in. These are great quality headphones for the price!!

Big and ugly

These do exactly what I wanted them for. They reduce ambient sound to a level that allows me to play along with drumless tracks on my full drum kit without cranking the music up to ear damaging levels. The noise reduction is much superior to the cheap Phillips noise canceling phones or the Vic Firth drummers phones I had been using. That is to say, they reduce the volume more than the Phillips and less than the Firths but leave the drums sounding like drums and the cymbals sounding like cymbals. They are much more comfortable than the Firths (a common complaint in the reviews Ive seen). I also like that the noise reduction is achieved passively with soft pads that seal around the ear, so Im not adding more AAA batteries to the local landfill. These are not for audiophiles but the sound is clear and defined enough for my purposes.

Bought these because my last pair of HD 280s wore out after several years of constant use. Nuff said!

Another great buy from Sennheiser.

Bigger than expected. Everything came to the house as expected. The sound is fine but I need a smaller headset that I use for travelling. I will give this headset to my kids.

Editor here, I love these, been using them basically everyday since I bought them in 2014. But now that the warranty runs out, of course they break. They have held up well enough, but now one ear is half the volume of the other ear. I am buying another pair as we speak, I love these so much!

These headphones produce nice sounds, isolate noise well and would be great if it wasnt breaking apart and Im using super-glue to hold it together.

Great sound, comfort, and isolation. The wire is curled up and stretches out like a slinky. The 1/4 jack screws off to reveal a 3.5mm jack.

I wasnt blown away by the sound these produce but they make a good general quality sound...good enough for me to trust them during mixing.
