Sennheiser Professional HD 280 PRO Over-Ear Monitoring Headphones

I play bass guitar with a church praise team; I have used these headphones for a number of months now. I prefer over-ear headphones to the in-ear monitors, namely because of enhanced bass frequencies, and also comfort. These headphones deliver very well for both sound and comfort. They are on the larger side, but if your primary concern is sonic quality, these are a very good choice. They fold up easily to fit in a case. I plan to hold on this pair for a long time.

I purchased these headphones about half a year ago, so I could use them to drown out outside noises when I need to focus . They have excellent sound isolation. The audio quality is pretty up there. But its certainly not high end. For comparison, I have the Sennheiser HD 555s and they completely blow the 280s out of the water. Theyre not only not in the same league, the HD 555s are several leagues above. That said, the HD 555s are open ear headphones and thus they dont isolate sound at all, while the HD 280s are some of the best isolating headphones Ive ever come across. So the immersion factor is well done by both headphones, but in different ways. For this reason, Im giving the HD 280s a 5/5, still, because theyre quite decent at audio quality, while being superb and noise-isolation, which is the primary reason why I got them in the first place.

This is what a real set of quality headphones should be. Great performance and great value! After listening to other headphones comparable in price, the Sennheiser HD-280 outperforms them all! These phones deliver excellent bass quality and really block out any outside noise. Im so glad I chose them!

I purchased these for my husband he loves the light weight feel of them plus they never pinch his ears nor does he have to wear his hearing aids when listening to his audio books the sound is so clear from them.

These headphones have really started to open up and are delivering some really fantastic sound. I bought these to listen to my vinyl collection quietly. They do not, of course give you the same sound quality of 5 highend room speakers, but they do give you a good representation of what the music should sound like and the quality of the record. They do not produce too much bass as many headphones do these days. They produce as much bass as the song calls for. This is straight forward sound, the way music was intended to be heard. These headphones have also helped me pick up some unwanted hum in my system. The noise cancelation is better than expected. Ive never had a pair of headphones with better noise cancelation than these. They are also comfortable and adjustable. I dont see how anyone has had a problem fitting them on thier head.

My last pair lasted 20 years. So I bought a new one for myself and one for my wife. I wouldnt use any other headphones.

Great value! Sennheiser is my go-to for quality headphones at a reasonable price. I use mine with my band to monitor our practices. Great for on the floor recordings and live monitoring.
