Sennheiser Professional HD 280 PRO Over-Ear Monitoring Headphones

This is the second pair of the HD280PRO headphones that I have owned, the first ones lasted me about 10 years and multiple trips but I think the wear and tear on them stressed the plastic and they finally broke. This new pair feels way cheaper than the last one. The plastic used feels lighter and the padding feels really cheap compared to older models. They feel significantly less comfortable to wear than the older designed models. I would get an older pair if you can or buy something else. The new model doesnt even block out sound as well so it kinda missed the mark on all counts for me.

Incredible sound with a notoriously silly design. Theyre pretty uncomfortable, borderline exhausting, to wear for extended periods of time and the cable is so ridiculous that there are entire Reddit forums dedicated to rewiring it. I like to use these for audio engineering because they sound fantastic but I have to take them off if I want to move from the desk to the equipment rack because of the stupid telephone-style cable. I wish theyd just fix this. Cheaper headphones have a removable cable option...it just blows my mind. Its frustrating because they probably are the best sounding headphones that Ive used in this price range but theyre practically impossible to work with.

Excellent headphones, Had them for 11 years now, still going strong. I had to replace the pads 10 years in though. The bass might be less than a reference sound, but I like it that way, because its easier for long sessions. Isolation is very good, and the extensible cable is quite practical.

Ive been comparing these headphones with a pair of $20 Sony MDR-V150 headphones Ive had for years.

I just bought another pair of these and first ones are still going strong after many years. These are made well, sound great, and are very comfortable. Love Sennheiser quality.

Im using these to monitor audio during field video productions. The 32db sound isolation is great. These really help me determine which ambient noises are being picked up by the mics. Perfect phones for this type of application.

These are classics. Excellent. Best bang for the buck that I am aware of. I had the old version back in 2013-2015, and loved it then. The new version doesn’t have the option to take the cord off, but it seems like they fit tighter (in a good way) than I remember, and the noise cancelling it excellent! Very little sound leaks out!
