My Lady-Friend saw this Model on Sale for 200 Dollars off for a limited time. I had talked about getting a robot vacuum and this was the opening I was waiting for. Amazon shipped it to us and we received it without any incidents. Setup was a breeze. It is easy to assemble, and getting it onto my WIFI Network was a breeze. I had some issues until I discovered I forgot to switch my phone with the app from the 5g signal to the 2g signal (very important). Once I did that, setting up the Robot on the App was easy. I really have any complaints about the Shark Robot. It does what is advertised. It is actually cleaning our apartment as we speak. It does a good job of finding its way around without getting stuck. The only time it got stuck was when it was cleaning under our bed. I put down some of the magnetic border strips to keep it away from my surge protector and the wires around it, and it got stuck between the strips and one of the bedframe support posts. It was an easy fix, just moved the strips in more to give the robot more room to maneuver. Problem solved. So far, Im happy with my purchase. Now, the Kraken in the Room: The Suction. I think it is decent for what the Robot is. I did a good job of picking up the dirt and lint that was under our bed that we could have never gotten with our normal vacuum without moving the bed. Understand that this Robot, especially at this price point, will NEVER fully replace your standard upright vacuum. The purpose of this robot is spot cleaning and keeping a base level of cleanliness. You should still have and be using your upright for when you need true deep cleaning. In closing, this is a powerful little robot that does the job that it is advertised it will do. It is easy to set up and easy to use. If you absolutely HAVE to have a more powerful robot that does more of the deep-cleaning that youre looking for, the Roomba has a model that is around 800 bucks. Thank you, and GOOD NIGHT NOW!!!

I bought this after doing a lot research. I thought it was nicely priced and had a lot of features considering the cost. It cleans very well sometimes going over the same area more than once. The self emptying is a particularly nice feature and on a cleaning run, it will often interrupt the cleaning to empty itself then start over where it left off. Its pretty good with hair as long as its not very long. I am not so sure that the bin on the base will go for 30 days as I usually empty mine after a week or at most 2 weeks. It is however not maintenance free... The filter in the robot as well as one in the base does need cleaning every now and then to maintain the great sucking power that it has and I usually take off the brush and remove the hair that is tangled there. As I have a baby in the house and hence lots of food particles on the floor, I activate the robot twice daily and clean the robot every 2 weeks though it is probably un-necessary to do it so often as the filter and brush are usually not very dirty at that time. My only negative comment is that there is no option for a remote to the best of my knowledge bearing in mind that the app to control the device doesnt work in all countries outside of the USA as I painfully found out when I tried to download the app. That unfortunately converts it from being really smart to being somewhat retarded as it learns the position of bits of furniture but if they are removed, it still avoids the area as if they were still there. I took off one star for this reason and would not recommend this particular unit if you live outside of the USA or its territories.

This is a game changer for dog hair. I’m surprised how much it can hold before it has to dock itself to twice the trash.

Pros: I have a shedding lab and the unit works great getting the hair off the hardwood floors. It rarely gets stuck under furniture or tangled in power cords. Gets dirt and hair out from under the smallest crevasses with its front sweeper brushes. Empties itself when complete. Cons: Its a little noisy when cleaning, especially when emptying itself into the main container. The mapping system is inaccurate at times with the machine hunting for the base station for several minutes. Ill send the machine to a single room to clean, but it seams to partially clean other areas as well. Doesnt get up the dog hair thats on the rug. I bust out the large upright vac for that. In all its really worth the price and the pros far outweigh the cons. Works much better than my first robot cleaner I bought in 2017. Its like day and night better! If the mapping worked better Id give it 5 stars.

I was skeptical about this vacuum. How could a product that is 1/3 the cost of a Roomba be as good? I have a 2,700 sq ft hours but only use the robot for the main areas. I keep the bedrooms closed as a housekeeper takes care of vacuuming those every two weeks. Most of my house is tile floors and I have three small dogs that shed very little. Ive owned a Roomba 960 for about 5 years and was constantly frustrated with it. It got stuck regularly and almost never completed a full cycle. Additionally, we would often turn it off because the noise was so obnoxious. We couldnt run it at night because of the noise and I work from home on regular Zoom calls so I couldnt run it during the day either so the only time available was to run it in the evenings and the noise was too much to deal with while trying to watch TV or even have a conversation. Finally, I had to replace the battery about 4 times and the aftermarket batteries dont work well and the Roomba batteries are seriously expensive. So....when I saw this Shark, I was skeptical of the price and quality. BUT I WAS WRONG!! THIS IS AN AMAZING PRODUCT!. It is very quiet so I can run it during the day, evening or night with no problems. It rarely gets stuck and only stops when it gets a stick my dogs bring in from the back yard stuck in the roller. Im OK with that! I now run it every day. The brushes run slower than a Roomba but there is logic to that as they do a great job of moving the debris into the path of the roller. The roller-brush (only one) is much narrower than a Roomba but because the brushes do such a good job of guiding the debris, that doesnt seem to matter. The docking station with the automatic emptying processes works incredibly well. Once the Sharks bin is full, it returns to the docking station and the vacuum (very strong) in the docking station sucks out the debris into a large cup that I only have to empty about once a week. It then goes right back to where it left off and continues its cycle. When the battery runs low, it returns to the docking station, empties the bin and charges. Once the Shark is recharged, it goes right back to where it left off again and continues the cycle. The mapping program seems to work very well and I love that the Shark uses a more logical vacuuming pattern compared to the Roomba. I honestly cant think of any negatives. I would like to be able to just pause the Shark while Im on a call instead of returning it to the station but that isnt a big deal since its so quiet. If you are looking for a good robot vacuum and dont want to shell out close to $1,000 for a similar Roomba, this is your product!

Good concept and I got the Shark rather than the iRobot or other brands due to reviews. Not what I hoped. For pet owners, its good at cleaning up fur. I have 3 cats and I was vacuuming every day and emptying half a canister of fur. Got this Shark so I could take a break. What it does not excel at is litter. I use natural flushable corn litter and I have thin litter mats that vacuum up nicely with my Bissell. But this robot thing goes over the mat and just leaves a lot behind. On hardwood floor it is much better but doesnt seem to get it all. The thing likes to repeat clean so it eventually gets up most dirt and fur. It turned itself on in the middle of the night on the first day and I almost boxed it up. Had to do a factory reset to clear the memory since there is no clock setting in the app. The app is basic but user friendly and the schedule function is probably helpful but after that first night I just shut it off before bed. It does get lost if in low light conditions. Sunlight is good enough but you will need to turn on all the lights if cleaning at night. Overall it is just okay for the price and I love not seeing as much pet hair. Thought about returning it but my other half got rid of the box which also had the plastic docking thing for carpets. Ill keep it and enjoy not vacuuming as much. UPDATE: 05/27/2022 Bumping up to 4 stars because it makes me happy! Never looking back! This has become very convenient and my favorite cleaning tool. I may have to run it a couple times a day to get up all the litter but I dont mind at all, and the robot doesnt complain. Saves me soooo much time (and back pain) than traditional vacuuming. Added comments after using it for a while... Just like my regular vacuum, I know itll function better if its maintained regularly so Im still emptying the dust bin about twice a week. The robot itself isnt terribly loud. However, it is when emptying so I cant run it while working at my home office. The sensors on the underside need to be cleaned but not too often and Ive only had to manually open the brush door underneath it twice.

So my boyfriend already has this model so I knew I wanted it bc its AMAZING. I have 2 dogs that shed like crazy and its a daily battle to keep the dirt level down. I had a another cheaper robovac but it doesnt map and was quite stupid, honestly. It would get off the dock and immediately head for the one place it always got stuck. Plus the dust cup was minuscule and brushes pretty cheap...but it helped keep the dust and dander and fur to a sort of acceptable layer between my weekly moppings and eod vacuuming. Anyway... I was constantly jealous over the bfs overkill of a robovac since hes already a pretty clean guy and only has a very sedentary cat that barely sheds.... Seemed like such a waste of such fine cleaning abilities and large dust storage... After many unsuccessful attempts to get him to trade me, and then just buy me one, I broke down and looked at the available options. I was distraught. Hell no, I couldnt afford a new one. Couldnt afford one like new or even used, good. But thats when I saw the used, acceptable with large cosmetic blemishes for nearly half the price. Who cares about a pretty face, I asked myself? Certainly not me, as I threw a resentful glance at the boyfriend. I took the future of my clean floors in my own hands and ordered. It came the next day in its original packaging that had obviously once been opened but at least put back together with care... And it still had the stickers on the base and vac! There were a few scuffs on the top and bottom but hey, nothing I couldnt live with. On a whim I grabbed a microfiber cloth and started swiping... And much to my delight the scuffs came right off and I have what appears to be a nearly new shark robovac for half the price. Yes, you can tell its been run maybe once. But the brushes were still in the packaging and the dust cup has nary a spec inside. Score!! Connecting to wifi was tedious but ONLY bc it was my stupid android phone being.. Well... Android. It wouldnt give me the wifi network for reasons I still cant figure out...but after several hours of resetting wifi and multiple other interventions I had enough. Out of desperation I used my company iphone and had it connected in less than a minute, then just logged in to the app through my personal phone and havent had an issue at all. So if youre having issues, try a different phone first before you unplug every wifi device in the house, reset your router, reinstall the app, and reboot your phone.....for the 4th time. Conclusion: Buy it. Even the used acceptable one. Try another phone before giving up on the wifi connection. My little Ruby is now happily mapping my home and I look forward to clean floors and minimal dust emptying. Now, if I can just get that microfiber cloth to work on the other blemishes in my life....

I dont review many products - generally I do so to prevent buyers from being ripped off because the quality of product is poor, or if the item is fairly expensive and buyers (like me) want details to make a buying decision, so, here it is. We are first time users of a robot vacuum; it has been a few weeks and, so far, we are very pleased with the performance of the Shark AV1010AE IQ Robot Vacuum w/XL Self-empty Base, we affectionately call Timmy. Timmy does a great job keeping our first floor pet hair free. We have hardwoods throughout with some low-pile area rugs that Timmy also does a great job on. The first few runs were slow, as Timmy mapped out the areas. Now, we love that we can send Timmy out to clean a specific area. However, our routine is a daily run in the early morning. Initially we thought we would run it while we slept, however, the noise would be distracting and cause the dogs to bark. One thing is that the self-empty base requires emptying every 2-3 runs but that is because our dogs shed quite a bit (and I contribute with my long hair). I am curious to see how the brushes and sweepers do over time but, so far, we are very pleased. I rated it 4 on cleaning and suction power because the device cannot get everywhere and suction doesnt allow the device to get all hair out of carpeting. Also, spend the time to clear your floors, secure/raise cords, and other secure or move items that might block your robot from accessing an area to clean or get tangled/stuck. It will allow your robot to clean more and not require you to rescue it. One negative was Timmy went out cleaning and ran out of battery (so I had to return him to base). Improvements to the return to home feature would be nice, although this has only happened once and it may have been because Timmy was still learning the floorplan and distances. All in all, this is a great product. Yes, youll still need to do routine cleaning yourself to get areas like under and behind furniture, deeper cleaning of carpets, and smaller spaces that vacuum cannot access. However, for the areas our Timmy can access are clean and free of hair, dust, and dirt - and that I love! It used to be, opening all the blinds would immediately send me for the vacuum, but now, Timmy running around each morning through the week means I can open the blinds and not feel the need to run for my dustmop, broom, and vacuum. Highly recommend this product for a home with hard surfaces, low pile area rugs, and pets!
