> 3 dayIt can memorize its own routes and you can micromanage which rooms you want it to do. I see mine make it’s way through a door instead of bumping around everywhere, trying to find the way inside.

Greater than one weekAt 2 months… still works. Love the systematic cleaning pattern and self emptying feature. It continues vacuuming where it stopped to empty and returns to the charging station. Our previous robot vacuum seemed to follow us from room to room instead of completely cleaning an area.

> 3 dayI purchased the Shark during the after Thanksgiving sales. We did not set it up until New Years and what a great surprise. It works great on my wood floors and has no issues with my area rugs. Ive read that its loud, but its not as loud as a regular vacuum so not sure what one would expect. The only time I hear it is when it emptys when it goes back to its home. We do not have pets so I cannot speak on if it works well with pet hair, but I would not expect it or any other brand to pick up piles of hair. That would be something for your larger vacuum. Overall, its a great buy and would recommend.

> 3 dayWe haver had two Botvacs over past 5 years. Robot vacs are to do light cleaning, pet hair in our case. We still vacuum once a week. The shark works better than our most recent Botvac, which was a few years old. It is quiet, and self emptying is more helpful than I first thought it would be. Also faster. Last cost was much less than past Botvacs we have purchased.

> 3 dayI got it at a large discount and I like the self-emptying feature, so 3 stars. The cleaning performance and coverage are OK, about the same as my 1st generation roomba. The smart features are designed terribly. The creepy eye with an internet connection is a privacy concern and is useless for mapping. Why do you try to map walls while its so much easier to map the working area? You could use cheap ultrasonic radars for that. That would also allow to discover obstacles without bumping into or climbing onto them. When it tries to run over my bare foot, that actually hurts a bit. The map is not utilized for route optimization: robot keeps bumping into walls and ignoring doorways even after it has mapped out the room. It wastes battery while doing that. The docking algorithm is ridiculous - docking can take up to 3 minutes. It cannot climb the raised front edge of its own docking mat.

> 3 dayI boxed this to return then did more searching for information on how best to use it. Im going to keep it for now and just know Ill need to clean the filters more often than I thought. The self emptying feature is really a game changer for me. After using this daily for 2 weeks Im going to stay with my original 4 stars. Our downstairs is basically an open room, 1200 with living areas designated by furniture and area rugs. Mapping isnt a big concern for me as long as it gets it all done. I continue to be unimpressed with the suction, I always have to have it on max, which even then doesnt seem to be as good as the commercials claim. I do empty the dust cup of pet hair every few days, and so far I havent had anything in the dust cup on the vac itself which concerned me. Today I opened the Pre-Motor Filter - which says to clean once a month - and found thats where ALL the dust was. I was very surprised and dont know if thats good or bad. Im used to hair, dust and anything else on the floor all going into one container. I cleaned and washed the filters and will see if that makes a difference. This is more complicated than my other robots as there are several filters to maintain. My feelings after a couple of weeks - Im not as happy as I thought Id be - but the self-emptying feature is so great I can overlook some disappointments. No way could I go 30 days but a good cleaning once a week or so is so much better than daily I wont complain. ********** I was very excited when my new robot arrived this morning. Ive had iroomba which I loved, Neato which is a love/hate affair because I so dislike having to empty and clean the bin and roller at least once during a cycle. I thought this Self Cleaning Shark was my answer. Ive only used it one day so will change my rating if I change my mind. The plus: Even though it has bristles, pet hair did not tangle. It did a great job of picking up pet hair, that others have problems with. LOVE that self-cleaning feature! It had no trouble getting into and out of tight spaces Price was reasonable The Cons: Had trouble connecting to app; robot said connected, iPhone said connected, app said not. Finally just let it run and it figured out the connection on its own. Emptied the dust bin on the dock and there was hair, but no dust, no dirt - just pet hair. Medium suction. Emptied the dust bin on the vac itself and it held some but no where near the amount of dirt and dust the Neato picks up. In fact am running the Neato now and it is picking up the dust the Shark didnt. This Shark answered the problems I had with the Neato but the suction wasnt near as good. Ill try it on max tomorrow and see how it does. Guess it depends on whats most important to you in a robot vac.

> 3 dayProduct is a cheaper iRobot, period. For half the price of the leading brand, I get half the cleaning ability. We have an iRobot and this Shark. Both clean the bottom floor and the iRobot cleans afterward. Always has more debris in its container.

> 3 dayGood concept and I got the Shark rather than the iRobot or other brands due to reviews. Not what I hoped. For pet owners, its good at cleaning up fur. I have 3 cats and I was vacuuming every day and emptying half a canister of fur. Got this Shark so I could take a break. What it does not excel at is litter. I use natural flushable corn litter and I have thin litter mats that vacuum up nicely with my Bissell. But this robot thing goes over the mat and just leaves a lot behind. On hardwood floor it is much better but doesnt seem to get it all. The thing likes to repeat clean so it eventually gets up most dirt and fur. It turned itself on in the middle of the night on the first day and I almost boxed it up. Had to do a factory reset to clear the memory since there is no clock setting in the app. The app is basic but user friendly and the schedule function is probably helpful but after that first night I just shut it off before bed. It does get lost if in low light conditions. Sunlight is good enough but you will need to turn on all the lights if cleaning at night. Overall it is just okay for the price and I love not seeing as much pet hair. Thought about returning it but my other half got rid of the box which also had the plastic docking thing for carpets. Ill keep it and enjoy not vacuuming as much. UPDATE: 05/27/2022 Bumping up to 4 stars because it makes me happy! Never looking back! This has become very convenient and my favorite cleaning tool. I may have to run it a couple times a day to get up all the litter but I dont mind at all, and the robot doesnt complain. Saves me soooo much time (and back pain) than traditional vacuuming. Added comments after using it for a while... Just like my regular vacuum, I know itll function better if its maintained regularly so Im still emptying the dust bin about twice a week. The robot itself isnt terribly loud. However, it is when emptying so I cant run it while working at my home office. The sensors on the underside need to be cleaned but not too often and Ive only had to manually open the brush door underneath it twice.

Greater than one weekWe have 3 dogs and they bring in a lot of mess. Especially when its rained and wet outside. The app is pretty good. It has some trouble mapping -- better to start it off in broad daylight with all the lights on. It will randomly stop (sometimes to recharge, other times to completely forget to do the kitchen, even though mapped) and will also get stuck on some apparently easy obstacles. (The robot texts me when its hung up, so glad I gave it a good name!). But it also magically gets out of some pretty tough spots. Grab a beer and sit back and watch. I set it to run it 6 days/week; more often is better for us (it wont do a major vacuum, but it will keep up if ran frequently.) I thoroughly clean it weekly. On the robot, I shake out the filter (or replace it) and rinse the collector. I also run the beater and the beaters keeper under water until clean. On the mother ship, I pull and rinse the dust bin, which gets bad if wet outside. I also soap and wash the two filters (or replace them). Its clear a lot of grit gets through the filters into the motor, so expecting a failure. For the HEPA filter, I have not replace it yet, but it sure shakes out a lot of dust. Then I air blast, wipe both down both, and polish the sensors. If I am out of town it consistently crashes within 6+ days (my wife does not clean it). I bet it would work a lot better and with fewer cleanings if you dont have dogs brining in sticks and leaves.

> 3 dayGreat vacuum, east set up and use. I did have issues with installing the app and never got that cleared up, but works fine without it. It is a bit noisy and bangs into things…I like to have it clean when I’m gone. It doesn’t get stuck or get tied up into cords. It does a thorough job and cleans my 1600 sq for house on one charge! I love that it returns itself to the base and self empties!! Great purchase really
