Sigma 150-600mm 5-6.3 Contemporary DG OS HSM Lens for Canon

Good price. Movement is not smooth, but works find. Miss the old manual lens from the 80s and the buttery smooth actions.

The picture quality is top notch, again depending on the body where you mount this lens. I use a Nikon 5300D and works like a charm for me. Perfect for bird photography and wildlife photography. I was sweetly surprised with the clarity it offers at both 150, 300, 500 and 600 mm. Easy to focus and a delight to own. One of my best investments in lenses so far. Awesome one from Sigma. Thank you.

Great lens with great focal range and the image stabaliser works really well. Have got some nice images with my camera set onto a high ISO and shooting with this lens in low light.

Ich habe in der Vergangenheit die Möglichkeit gehabt einige Tage mit dem Tamron 150-600 zu fotografieren. Vorerst war das auch mein Favori, dann auf dem Photokina das G2 von Tamron ausprobiert und gewartet bis es lieferbar wird. Irgendwann im Frühjar standen mir für ein Wochenende lang zwei Sigmas 150-600, sowohl als C als auch als S zur Verfügung. Ab dann war Tamron so gut wie aus dem Rennen. Einziger Vorteil im Vgl. zu Sigma war bessere Stativschelle (besser positioniert und ausbalanciert bei ausgefahrenem Zoom). Zweiter Punkt - die Kamera interne Objektivkorrektur muss ausgeschaltet werden (mit eingeschalteter Korrektur war die Kamera stets blockiert).Sonst war mir Sigma in allen Belangen passender.

Most photographers know that most of the time longer lenses can effect picture quality. I used this one on a Canon 90D. I don’t have the strength to hand hold it and would recommend using this only on a tripod. Any issues with picture quality can be overcome by good processing. The only photographers in my world who use this length of lens are those standing onshore trying to capture water fowl at a distance. It’s a good quality lens, if that’s what you’re looking for but purchase it with both intent and the frequency of your expected use (unless you have money to burn). I do just fine using my 100-400mm and 75-300L series for my nature photography. But I’m not shooting water fowl from the shore.

数十年前、子どもの運動会などの撮影に300mm、400mmを使っていましたが、広い校庭などではギリギリのサイズだった記憶があったので、600mmまでカバーできるこちらを選択しました。

Awesome lens ... very versatile and quality of the image is completely acceptable

Deliberated over this buy for ages. Read that the Sport was much heavier and specifically front heavy.
