SimpliSafe Entry Sensor (Pack of 4) - Window and Door Protection - Compatible with The SimpliSafe Home Security System - Latest Gen

I purchased 3 boxes of four sensors to put on my windows. Positive - the sensors came early and work well. Negative - some came with dead batteries. Must’ve sat on a shelf for a few years before they were sent to me.

Arrived promptly and worked as advertised

Set up actually does take some planning and you need the appropriate screw driver for the screws you will need to install. As for ease, it took only about 35 minutes to install the sensors after planning where to put them. The setup was very straight forward and was easy as well. Make sure you get the App for your phone. Overall it was a very easy experience.

The sensors actually work well WITH the Simplisafe base. With that said, we ended up returning the entire system. The cameras are the worse part. But back to reviewing the window sensors. The original tape literally fell off as soon as it started cooling down in the evenings and we got slight condensation. Double sided indoor/outdoor 3m mounting tape fixed that problem. Then at a month in, the batteries started failing. Some last a month, some last ?? as we returned them before they all failed. The last little quirk is the slight delay from tripping the sensor to the notice or alarm. It can take up to 30 seconds. Made them useless to use as an automatic trigger for a light. You could be wondering around in the dark for 30 ish seconds.

Customer service: just a canned list of instructions! The battery door is so snug, that it cant come off unless the sensor is essentially glued off the door -- one still struggles with it to open it with a screw driver or something. Poor plasticky design. The bigger issue: then the Base station (the system) just doesnt recognize the sensor after its battery replacement. Calling the customer service is basically a painful reminder that every time I will have to remove the sensor from the list of devices being monitored, and then add it back. Simply ridiculous product. This is my fifth call their customer service on one thing or the other.. Usually the product works okay, but the pain points are too many. This is much more painful than changing a bulb. As if life should just revolve around fixing Simplisafe issues at home!

Didn’t buy enough entry sensors with my original Simplisafe order. These are the exact same sensors that comes with your system and they work perfectly. Easy to install.

Had one more door than what was supplier with the system; purchased one to cover the last door. Mounts easily and integrates into the rest of the system well.

This was a very easy add on. Open the box, pulled the tab, stuck to the door and it was good to go.

Seems like a good product for the money, as well as easy to install and set up with what I already had.

Fell off the wall after less than a month. I am glad I was not away and had the alarm go off. Of course, Simplisafe is more than happy to sell you more adhesive strips.
