Do this for increased internal storage. Easy to do, check YouTube for tutorials…worth the investment of time and money.

The late 2014 Mac Mini, which sells used for a price between 300-450US$ is a good buy, can run BigSur, and it has a small port that can snap with this adapter to give you an extra storage space. The process is simple & this product is of good quality.

I used this adapter to install a NVMe SSD into my late 2014 Mac Mini. You will need #6 and #8 Torx SECURITY screwdrivers to access the interior of your Mac Mini. I mention this because even though I had a Torx set, they werent security and I had to rush to the store for the right ones so I could use my computer the next day. The adapter fits perfectly. the NVMe attaches with a bit of adhesive tape and one screw (supplied).

My late 2014 Mac Mini was soooo slow that I stopped using it a few years ago. When I saw this upgrade, I gave it a shot. I added 500GB, and now the machine is fast, really fast. Installation was less than 10 minutes. This Mac is now perfect for my use, no more frustrating delays. Here is the link to the memory I installed https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086BGWNY8?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

I happened to come across this while looking at SSD drives for my late 2014 model Mac-mini. Like most others, I found the computer had become nearly useless due to always having the spinning color wheel. I really had a hard time bringing myself to purchase a new Mac-mini since it would have cost >$1k. I really dont need much out of this desktop so thought maybe replacing the 1TB HDD with an SSD drive could help. The other problem though is I didnt want to replace it with something smaller so was looking at >=1TB SSD drives. Those arent terribly expensive, but still seemed a gamble since I wasnt sure that was really going to fix it.

If you have a 2014 series Mac Mini, this is a must have. Works like a charm. Beats a SATA SSD by far. One small technical flaw (and forgive me, I am an engineer :) ) is the fixation support is made with a small adhesive foam bar as opposed to a screw - which screw has its dedicated hole about 1/10 away from the scerws location on the sintech board. So very typical.

This actually works exactly as advertised with the Late 2014 Mac Mini that has only an HHD or SSD. This adaptor allows instillation of a PCiE SSD as well and greatly improves performance of the machine. I thought going from disk to solid-state was a difference, but this upgrade makes an even greater improvement. Plus I saved some dollars by not having to buy an Apple blade drive but instead could purchase a standard one by Samsung or whoever.

My 2014 Mac Mini was running on a 5400rpm platter drive and it was taking full minutes to boot up and get to a workable desktop. I was ready to replace it completely with a brand new one. Then I got this and put in a 1TB SSD in addition to the 1TB platter drive. Now it boots and runs like brand new and I use the platter drive for long term storage. If you have a 2104 Mac Mini that you want to breathe new life into this is the solution.
