I used this adapter to install a NVMe SSD into my late 2014 Mac Mini. You will need #6 and #8 Torx SECURITY screwdrivers to access the interior of your Mac Mini. I mention this because even though I had a Torx set, they werent security and I had to rush to the store for the right ones so I could use my computer the next day. The adapter fits perfectly. the NVMe attaches with a bit of adhesive tape and one screw (supplied).

The late 2014 Mac Mini, which sells used for a price between 300-450US$ is a good buy, can run BigSur, and it has a small port that can snap with this adapter to give you an extra storage space. The process is simple & this product is of good quality.

I happened to come across this while looking at SSD drives for my late 2014 model Mac-mini. Like most others, I found the computer had become nearly useless due to always having the spinning color wheel. I really had a hard time bringing myself to purchase a new Mac-mini since it would have cost >$1k. I really dont need much out of this desktop so thought maybe replacing the 1TB HDD with an SSD drive could help. The other problem though is I didnt want to replace it with something smaller so was looking at >=1TB SSD drives. Those arent terribly expensive, but still seemed a gamble since I wasnt sure that was really going to fix it.

I used it to upgrade my Mac mini SSD. While this serves the purpose I think it’s more expensive than the similar products from auction site. Plus side is - this shipped from USA seller with faster shipping.

Like the header says, wow what a difference. I had 75-85 on the blacklabs program and when I switched it over to this part and an old achi 256gb ssd equals 750 throughput. Why doesn’t everybody change this out on their old 2014 Mac mini. This went from a dead dog to a computer that is ready for another couple of years. Sure it’s only been an hour but what a difference.

My 2014 Mac Mini was running on a 5400rpm platter drive and it was taking full minutes to boot up and get to a workable desktop. I was ready to replace it completely with a brand new one. Then I got this and put in a 1TB SSD in addition to the 1TB platter drive. Now it boots and runs like brand new and I use the platter drive for long term storage. If you have a 2104 Mac Mini that you want to breathe new life into this is the solution.
