> 3 day**UPDATE 6/5/2020** I have to take this down from 5 stars to three. We ended up having two of them rip off (not with us intentionally taking them off) the door and taking the paint off with them. And then when taking off the others the paint came off as well. They served their purpose well, and it could have just been because it’s old paint. But now we have to make sure all that is covered up for our move. -Original- We’ve had these up for a few months now. They work really well, the only issue is sometimes we forget they’re there and try to open then can’t (user error lol.) we got them because our cat had learned how to push open the sliding closet doors and we have smaller things we were afraid he could choke on in there. They do the job so well! Very easy installation. We haven’t had to take them off yet, will update when we do on whether paint comes off with it or not!

Greater than one weekI have strong toddlers. I installed this right away on my sliding glass door, took 2 seconds, and it worked right away! I really yanked on the door to double check it and it’s good. Gives me a lot of peace to know that my littles can’t sneak out at all hours of the day. Thank you!

Greater than one weekThis works great on our closet bypass doors. It was easy to place, sticks well and pops up easily and then pops down easily when you want to open the doors. I took off one star because the part that slides up and down comes out of the track sometimes and its kind of a nuisance to get back in the track...I think eventually the little guides are going to break if I have to pop it into place too many times. Just put it high enough that its out of the kiddos reach, because I imagine they could figure it out easily enough. Also, it wont work if there arent guides at the bottom of your bypass doors. We recently replaced our doors and I hadnt yet added the guide back at the bottom of them. I put this lock on and my toddler just pushed the doors backward to get past the lock. I realized what was happening and put the guide back on and now its great. I will say that even though its not recommended for this use, I did try it on our sliding glass door. I was desperate because my little guy keeps letting himself outside, which is terrifying. I wont take off a star for this, because they flat out tell you not to use it for that purpose but I would definitely follow their recommendation NOT to use it on a sliding glass door. It stuck really well to the glass so I can see how it would work well for keeping windows from opening all the way, but I needed the door to slide past the lock so that we could still get out as needed. And it did, actually. I tested it to see if there was enough clearance before I stuck it on and there seemed to be. But once I stuck it on the glass, the sliding door did bump the stationary door when it was opened. It actually wasnt bad though, and we could definitely open the door. And the kiddo definitely could not open the door, so in that regard it did work. But then the sliding part of the lock popped off the track (like I mentioned above) while the door was open and I panicked because it prevented me from closing the slider at all. I did manage to get the door shut and removed the lock altogether so it wont happen again, but Im bummed that I will probably have to look into a lock which requires drilling into the slider frame or costs a ton. But anyways, learn from my mistake and listen to the advice that this lock isnt meant for sliding glass doors!

> 3 dayive been using these locks for almost six months without any problems! did some poking around for different locks to prevent my very smart, very curious little cat from getting into my closet. he had figured out that if he threw his body loudly and aggressively against the sliding doors, he could bump them enough to create just big enough of a gap, slide in his paw, and slither his way in to munch on all my clothes and shoes--and wake me up repeatedly throughout the night, in the process. these locks have turned out to be a total lifesaver. for security, i attached three of them, and they are so easy to lock/unlock whenever i need human access to my stuff. since i rent my apartment, im relieved to find a solution that i will one day be able to remove (even if it will take a little work). and, the neutral color blends in perfectly with the color of my closet doors. im stocking up on extras in the event they somehow malfunction or eventually un-stick from the doors. but, thus far, they have been incredibly secure.

> 3 dayIm giving this 4 stars because the first one I put up came off the next day. The tape just didnt hold. However, I let the lock sit for two days with the second one and it is holding on quite well. I put it as close to the slider as possible so that the toddler cant get any power or leverage on the lock. It is easy enough that my older child can unlock it easily to let the dog in and out and lock it right back so the toddler doesnt follow the dog out :) I think it needs more than a day to set up tight on the tape. Glad it came in a two pack :)

> 3 dayWe like this so far! We installed it a month ago to keep our 3yo with special needs from opening the sliding door when we werent around. We placed ours at the top of the door out of his reach, even if he stands on a chair. However, our 6 and 7yo can easily engage and disengage the lock themselves with a chair, giving them freedom, albeit with some effort on their part, to go out when they desire. The biggest downside at this point is that there is no way to lock the door after you go outside (this is not a failure of the product, per se, but something to keep in mind). We havent solved this problem yet and thankfully, it hasnt been an issue.

> 3 dayI got these to keep my 20 lb. naughty Ragdoll kitty out of my sliding door closets. I also have a variety of anti-kitty cabinet locks and bungees on cabinets. I almost gave this device a 1 star, because the first time after I installed one, the cat kept banging on the door and managed to jiggle it loose enough to get in. The 2nd. time he banged the door so much he broke wood off of the bottom, but didnt get it open. I guess he decided it was too much work, and now seems to have given it. Was easy to install and it didnt fall off even with kitty banging incessantly on the door. So...for now Ill give it a 4 star!

> 3 dayFor those who have a cat whos learned how to open sliding closet doors (and then climb your clothes with her claws to perch on an upper shelf), the struggle is real. Shes been carefully watching me latch this door lock, but even if she could do it (I wouldnt put it past her), its nicely installed with firm adhesive way out of her reach. If youre tired of claw punctures in your suit jackets, runs in your silk blouses, and tears in your skirts, this will solve your problem.
