> 3 dayIts not perfect, you cant smoke a joint or pipe inside and expect it to not smell at all. The smoke rising from the joint or pipe wont be caught. You CAN pack yourself a one hitter and if you clear it, you wont have any smoke from that and youll be able to blow it all through the Smoke Buddy. Tip: there is a little area between where you put your lips and the start of the filter. When you take your mouth off, it will be released into the air and not through the filter. If you remember this, breathe out through the Smoke Buddy, breathe in through your nose, and then out again through your Smoke Buddy and all of the smoke inside will go through.

Greater than one weekFirst off I have used anything from dryer sheets rubber banded to the thing toilet paper comes on all the way to going through the trouble of getting a 80 dollar fan coupled with a 100 dollar carbon air filter to try and reduce smoke smell. This thing is basically as good as a big carbon air filter just fits in your hand instead of taking up a whole corner of your room. These smoke buddies last about 25-30 days of daily moderate-heavy use. I wrap my lips around it to get a better seal instead of trying to use it like a brass instrument mouthpiece (lips inside the opening). This keeps the air flow more constant. You can get as big a hit as you can hold and blow through this and you will not see one bit of smoke come out the other side once it goes through the filter. Like i said it fits in an average sized hand well and fits almost any sized lips i can imagine of well. The only down side is they should be more environmentally friendly and screw or pop apart to let you replace the carbon filter with an easy-to-change cartridge instead of making you buy a while new smoke buddy. This would obviously cut down on price and landfill waste, but Ill continue to buy these because they work so well. Only smoke you produce is from whatever you are smoking from.

Greater than one weekI get these often and they are usually good but this one didn’t work at all. It doesn’t seem like it even reduces the smoke that just flows straight through. SAD!

04-06-2025If there was directions to wash out or if it was a little cheaper it would be worth the money, but having to buy one every 3-4 months at $18 is a little pricey. If only it were about $13.99 or had an option to buy 2 for $25-30. Otherwise, works well for how long it does work. perfect to buy and go to a hotel or something similar.

> 3 dayThese make a huge difference and and I cant imagine not having them! Frankly? My house doesnt have a strong, smoke anymore! Love that! Also like that no visitors can smell much if at all.. Been using these for a while and would like to share a few tips for their care... 1- First of all, the moisture from your exhale is the thing that clogs these so keeping Smoke Buddys dry inside is mega important! 2- I have found that its best to have at least 2. 3- Rotate them daily. 4- Using a lint free cloth wipe the moisture out of them after every use. Moisture is your enemy! 5- Use the caps when traveling but at home keep them open as much possible. Again, moisture is bad!

> 3 dayowning a bar means i have likely the worst schedule for sleeping possible. consequently i smoke before going to bed so i can sleep. my wife hates the smell of smoke almost as much as i do but as its a necessary evil such is life. it isnt an issue when its warm but during the winter months here in colorado we often get so cold that the windows freeze shut. no more going outside to smoke this really does what its advertized to do. no noticeable odor and it just keeps on working. noted the tip from another reviewer who made mention of placing a fabric softner sheet over the mouth end, actually a half sheet will do just fine. in doing so you greatly increase how long the smoke buddy will last as the sheet catches a lot of heavier tars exhaled instead allowing them to muck up the insides ending its usefullness sooner rather than later, and it doesnt impede airflow one bit.

> 3 daySo this thing does exactly what its designed to do. You blow smoke into it, and you cant smell much coming out. Theres still a little smell if youre smoking up in a small room, but thats mostly due to the product itself and not the smoke youre exhaling. Although I did notice after about a month of semi-regular use (a few times a week.) it started getting this really nasty smell. Now lets be honest, thats probably from my own munchie breath blowing into the thing constantly, but I was surprised at how quickly an odor formed. I left the caps off - as some of the other reviews said, but it still formed an odor. Theres really no washing instructions, so I tried spraying a tiny bit of air freshener in there to see if it helped freshen it. (I waited until it was fully dry to use it.) but it still had a weird funk. HOWEVER, It is still filtering smoke just fine. So a month of semi regular use, and it still gets the job done, but has a weird funk. For $11, I feel I got good use out of it.

> 3 dayGot this for my medical pot-head husband he used to used empty toilet paper roll with dryer sheets then switch for a Gatorade empty bottle and fill it with a bunch of dryer sheets it both works, but 1 its too bulky and the other well its paper so it runs out quickly soooo I looked for something a little nicer looking thing and of course smaller but same effectiveness... And found this smoke buddy 1- it does works 2-we still use the dryer sheets in it (for longer lifetime of happiness) 3-house doesnt smell like weed yay!!! 4- and its a nicer looking smoke trapper

> 3 dayI just started using the Smoke Buddy a couple of days ago, but so far Im really pleased. Hubby and I are both smokers, so Ive been trying to find a way to reduce smoke smell and dust in our home. This definitely will help. When you exhale smoke into it, nothing comes out the other end, the filter captures everything. I can see where having to repurchase them frequently might be a pain, but its so effective that I think I will keep buying them. Not sure what Ill do with the large collection of key chains over time, lol :). Pros: Eliminates all exhaled smoke entirely. Thats a HUGE pro. It works exactly as described. Cons so far: 1) You have to exhale the smoke pretty hard to get it to go through the filter, something to get used to but not a huge issue. 2) Hubby has a goatee and mustache. He reports that for him he cant get a good seal around his mouth due to this, so quite a bit of smoke leaks out around the edges, and as a result he probably will not use one often if at all. 3) Frequent replacement for heavy smokers expected. I would LOVE to see a version of this that allows the user to replace filter cartridges rather than having to replace the entire thing.
