Southwire Surge Guard 44270 Entry Level Portable Surge Protector - 50 Amp

Seems to work well. Havent had any surges so I cant say if it will protect our electronic things.

This was pirchased to protect our RV. It came well recommended. I guess you only know for sure when it does NOT work. So far, so good. Were happy.

Good product

Weve now used this on our first five (5) trips and, while it hasnt saved our trailer yet, it works as intended. I can always hook up my trailer to the electrical supply knowing that bad (or wrong) wiring wont damage my trailer. Provides us with valuable peace of mind.

Update: after owning for two years and having no issues ours caught on fire last night. The fire marshal did an investigation an came to the conclusion that it was the surge protector that failed. We did not have a surge that caused the fire. We were lucky to get out of the rv and the fire out. The surge protector and cord were both on fire. I had no issues up to this point but I won’t be buying this brand again. Works great had one for my 30 amp RV and when we upgraded stuck with the brand. With our 30amp there was a surge of power one night ( prior to me buying this) and it burned my outlet on the RV. Luckily no internal damage was done. Never had an issue since we installed one of these. I’ll never plug in my RV without one again.

Its a hassle to have to use hooking up my monster RV, but I do feel safer when I have it in use.
