Southwire Surge Guard 44270 Entry Level Portable Surge Protector - 50 Amp

Have not been able to use it yet. The season ended too soon. However two of my friends use the same model, so should also be good for me.

I liked that Southwire finally made good and replaced a defective surge protector that was purchased in June 2020. I did not like that the working replacement was delivered after several communications that took over 3 months. I do like that the replacement works as advertised. Thank you Amazon in facilitating the exchange. I will contact Southwire.

Hard to rate a surge protector when the instructions say it’s not a surge suppressor. Electricity passes through it, will follow up if it does as promised when a surge hits it and cooks it. The idea is the suppressor cook not your appliances.

The product was exactly as advertised and arrived on time.

So far I’ve plugged into two separate campgrounds in their wiring was wrong. This is very easy to use plug it in and look for green lights. I would never plug my RV in without using this or some other form of surge protector!

Works as advertised

This surge protector worked well for about a year, then we started loosing power on one of the legs to our breaker box. After investigating it turned out to be this surge protector. I wish we had went with a different brand.
