Surges havent been a problem for us, that we know of, but the wiring fault indicators have been useful to let us know when there are pedestal issues before we have problems and have to troubleshoot our own equipment. A must-have for RVs.

It did not work. It did have current running through, it but no lights lit up. I returned it with no problems.
