I love these gate latches, but the reason I am only giving it 4 stars is because they dont include all the hardware you need to mount it. The 4 lag bolts that mount to the wood post are not included, so I have to take the gate latch to the hardware store and find the lag bolts that will fit it before I can mount it. Its very frustrating that they dont just include the needed bolts.

This is the 3rd one of these I have purchased over the last year. We are slowly upgrading our existing chain link fencing to a much sturdier round wood post design. The posts are 5 diameter and these gate latches are easy to mount. The latch comes with the hardware to attach to the gate, but no lag bolts to attach to the post. I assume that is because the manufacture has no way of knowing how big of a post you will be attaching the latch to. I used four 4inch lag bolts for my application and they worked great. Only took about 15 minutes to hang the gate and attach the latch. The fact that the gate swings both ways makes a 2-way latch essential.

Wish they would make this for flat gates.
