THE BOT THREADS WERE DAMAGED TO THE POINT THE NUT WOULD NOT PASS OVER THE THREADS, HAD TO FILE THE THREADS DOWN BY HAND, 2 HOURS I DID NOT HAVE, BUT WORKED WELL AFTER I SPENT 2 HOURS FILING THE THREADS AND GETTING THE NUTS IN THE CORRECT POSITION

The instructions provided to install this latch on a gate were very clear. Clearance between the end of the gate and the supporting surface for the latch required that I adjust the gate hinge supports by screwing them in two more turns each. Latch works perfectly. I also applied a general purpose grease to the sliding surfaces of the latch and the round pin that engages the latch so that the gate would close with minimal friction. That made the gate closing action very smooth. The design of the latch is such that even our smart Houdini paint gelding cant open the latch to let himself out as he has done with sliding bolt latches.

Does not come with mounting screws/hardware. But, if you are handy at all, this is not a problem. Latch works better than expected!

I have purchased three of these system along with the one-way latching system, which I have two of. They come in an assortment of colors, which is cool if color is your thing. They work great and are extremely helpful with my daily grind here on my horse farm. I move horses in and out of stalls, paddocks and pastures all day and its nice being able to have the gate swing both directions and lock shut with ease. This most recent purchase was for my training arena I am constructing. I had to notch the post but thats my fault for not measuring accurately enough and being too lazy to move the post over. Still looks good and works like a charm!
