> 3 dayThis cutter is pretty cool. I love how the bits tuck into the handle so you dont lose them. I ordered this cutter with some carving rubber so I could give rubber stamp carving a try. It works really well, in my limited experience. My only complaint is that sometimes the cutting parts get stuck in the handle after using them and you have to fidget pretty hard to get them out. I actually had to use pliers to pull one of them out after using it.

Greater than one weekI realize that this is an inexpensive tool for beginners. But I also read reviews from experienced lino cutters that they really like this tool. I hate it. First of all, when using it as a palm tool (fitting the rounded end into the palm to push the blade across the lino) the screw lid keeps coming off and all the blades fall out. Ive already lost one blade that took me two days to find. Second, they lose their sharpness very quickly. Ive been using it for two days and already the small V tool is dull. Since you have to buy new blades all the time you might as well spend a little extra money and get a few decent tools. I cant afford the really expensive tools, but I spent around $40 for four Mikisyo Power Grip tools and they are much superior. You have to sharpen them so you also need to buy a whet stone or slip strop, but its well worth it for the longevity, ease of use and MUCH better cutting. Oh, and the blade screw comes loose while you are cutting, and the blades get stuck and I have to pull them out with pliers. Other than that........

> 3 dayThe piece got stuck so I was only able to use one of the carving pieces. Super bummer for learning, probably have to find another or return this one.

17-11-2024I had to take the whole thing apart and put it together again before I could get the blades to stay in. One blade is not cutting at all no matter what I do. Its so dull, it is shredding rather than cutting and its the detail carver so now I cant get into the tiny places on my block at all. Speedball comes with a name and the brand is (or was) always a good purchase. Im afraid I only have one blade that works well and that just doesnt cut it (pun intended).
