Stanwood Needlecraft Tabletop Amish Style Wooden Yarn Swift 2.5-6 feet

I love the simplicity of this particular swift. Its very easy to use and to store after use. The fact that its a tabletop model enables me to use it in a greater variety of places than I could with a clamp-on model. It stays put as advertised - no roaming around the surface. The wood is very smooth and doesnt catch on threads.

I have a small apartment so I had to make do with a tabletop. It does its job. Since I havent used one before I had to go very slowly to make sure the yarn didnt tangle. I hope that with practice and some time I dont have to spend a lengthy amount of time to wind my yarn.

Great swift! It makes really nice yarn cakes. Much better than my umbrella swift. I believe it’s because it’s lower and more lever with the ball winder. I only gave it 4.5 stars b/c I wish it had a finish, even linseed oil would make it much nicer, and one of the peg holes is a bit tight. All in all a great purchase for the $. I would buy it again!

I like to wind my yarn with a small center and an oblong shape that fits in a beverage mug that protects the skein. Being able to adjust pegs to hold the yarn and check for possible snarls before winding made my first experience a 100 percent success. Its portability is also appreciated.

Excellent quality, easy to use, all knitters should have one, easy to put-away. When the unit spins, the center rod can be too short when the yardage gets too large(depending on the thickness of the yarn).

Winding yarn skeins into balls with center pull. I have used all designs of swifts, & this is the easiest, most problem-free and economical in design. The Amish usually do get things done that way!

Incredibly simple and easy to assemble, store, and use. This was an excellent purchase and Im glad I chose it over the umbrella style.
