Strathmore Colored Pencil Spiral Paper Pad 9X12-30 Sheets -62477900

I like it！My friend told me this paper very good. Its true！It works very well.！

The rougher side of this paper works well with most brands of coloured pencils that I have: Polychromos, Pablo, Holbein, Luminance, Prismacolor Premier (and the old Berol ones) and Derwent Coloursoft. The Derwent Procolour and Artists struggled, but they dont do well on most papers (especially the lighter colours) as the cores are hard and reluctant to give up pigment, and work better on Pastelmat or similar. The other, smoother side of the paper worked best with the Pablos and Prismacolor Premiers. Holbein and Berol were ok, but the others didnt layer well. The grain of the paper (rougher side) is fairly uniform and non-directional, which I find a boon for tight realistic animal portraits...some papers have a crepe-paper texture which can put unintended highlights in your work. You get a nice traditional coloured pencil look with this paper. The white I ordered was not very white, more a pale grey, so may cause problems if being reproduced for illustration, but overall, I was pleased with the paper and will buy it again.

I am very please with this paper. I have been trying all kinds of paper to find the right one for my images. This paper has been the best one I have tried so far. I would recommend this for artists and colorists.

This was purchased for me off my wishlist for a project Im working on. The notebook is great but it has some odd lines that run deep through the paper. Think running your nail on the page and coloring over it you would see the indentations. Overall I will make this work Im considering getting another.

I was quite pleased to find a paper specifically made for Colored Pencils & WCPs. An addict for CP pencils and all the various available add-ons (an art supply stores dream). I have applied CPs and watercolor CPs to many different papers, from hot press paper designed for watercolors to every 400 & 500 Strathmore paper available, etc. This medium accepts both wax and oil-based CPs readily. Well priced, readily available and enjoyable to work with!

Excellent paper! Liked it so much I bought two more pads. Paper weight is perfect for colored pencils, no lines and smooth surface. Great job Strathmore!
