> 3 dayThis paper surprised me because I thought it was really bad but I ended up liking it a lot. One important thing to remember is that this paper does not handle solvents. An artist on YouTube made a review about this paper and the artist was very unhappy. The artist tried using solvent to blend colored pencil but the paper ended up warping a lot and the worst part is that the paper did not go back completely flat. So if you would like to use solvent, try Mixed Media (or hot pressed watercolor paper). It’s suitable for colored pencil and solvent. To me, Strathmore Colored Pencil paper is nice. I don’t use solvent which is fine for me. The tooth of the paper is comparable to Canson XL Mix Media (in case if you want a good idea of how the tooth of the paper is like) but in my opinion Strathmore Colored Pencil Paper handles the job a lot better. I can layer so much to get a shade of color or make gradients. To me, Canson XL Mix Media feels like it stops taking in colored pencil. I struggle to fill in the tooth of the paper so I have to press harder just to fill in the tooth of the paper. But I don’t have to press hard on Strathmore Colored Pencil paper. I actually like the look of specs (tooth) on this paper when I color (shade) lightly with my colored pencils. My favorite thing about this paper is that (once you have enough colored pencil on the tooth of the paper) you can burnish to get a smooth blend and it looks really nice. Overall I like it so for layering and blending using colored pencils without the need for solvents. This paper is not for everybody, so I recommend you try a sample from Strathmore or from an arts and crafts store.

Greater than one weekI like this Strathmore colored pencil paper so far... I use it everyday for practicing. Definitely best used with colored pencil. The tablet itself comes with a sturdy back cover, so I can draw on my lap. The paper itself has a nice tooth that can hold a lot of color making blending and shadow easy to do.

> 3 dayI just started drawing and wanted to get special paper just for colored pencils. I purchased a set of Prismacolor pencils and went to work on my first sketch of a deer. The paper felt good and allowed enough stregth to use the blending took I would definitely use this product Good luck and happy drawings

> 3 dayIve been drawing with color pencil for 4 years with fine mix media paper and fine Prismacolor pencil, color doesnt mix too well, and there are always small paperwhite spots on dark areas. I thought it was an inherent disadvantage of color pencil, but I was very wrong. with this paper, color mix better, and no spot is left in the shade (it has slightly fewer lines and texture as a trade-off, but I can finally draw deep shade), it made a world of difference.
