Greater than one weekThis product is very thin. I purchased for a free standing lace project; I had to use 6 layers because the needle kept ripping the stabilizer. Might be good as a top layer.

> 3 dayI bought this stabilizer at the same time I bought my embroidery machine. I went with it because I liked the idea of a water soluble stabilizer (I hate it when people dont trim the regular stabilizer back). I got it on the same day that I received my embroidery machine, and was excited to give it a try. It may not have been the best choice for a newbie to embroidery such as myself. I found that I could not get it taut enough in the hoops, no matter what I tried, and it would cause the fabric to slip out as well. The thread knots and breaks, and all of the samples I attempted to embroider ended up skewed because the fabric would slip. I painstakingly checked thread tensions and all of the machine settings, and they were set properly, so I figured it must be a problem with the texture of the stabilizer. I went down the street to Joann and picked up some tearaway stabilizer to use, and havent had any issues. Its still slow going as Im learning, but the thicker stuff seems to be more user friendly. I did test the water solubility inadvertently, however, and found that it melts right away. I was having a hissy fit because I couldnt get it to work and tipped my water over onto the project Id been working on, and it dissolved almost instantly. So, that was neat. Its why it gets 3 stars. Im sure that someone who knows what theyre doing could do much better, but for a noob, its probably safer to start with the traditional stabilizer.

> 3 dayThis is the first time Ive used this product and it was great. So many easy to follow videos on youtube. The one thing it didnt do was stick to the fabric but Im not sure if we bought the right type for that. As soon as you start stitching, it stays in place no problem. Great way to transfer the pattern without having to worry about disappearing ink, etc. I will use this a lot more.

> 3 dayI love this for topping my embroidery projects. Works really well to keep stitches from sinking into napped or fleece fabrics.

> 3 daywhen i first started embroidering I used it as backing but quickly learned I needed something more stable to prevent puckering. I now use this on top and love it. will buy more when I run out

> 3 dayI am a new user of embroidery machines. This stabilizer is the best made for the top of embroidering. I cut the holder at the bottom of the container, and place it near the front of the drawer. I then drape the stabilizer over the side of a drawer and it is there at your connivance to just pull and snip just the size that you want. It is reasonable and fast fast service so when you are low you will be surprised of the speedy delivery. Cost is great also.

> 3 dayI just started the hobby of machine embroidery and this topping is one of the first things that I found was necessary for some type of fabrics, especially those that have a deep pile or texture. Most of it rips off fairly easily after embroidering but the rest has to be removed with water. It is very sticky when wet but does fully dissolve. It’s not as easy to use as I would like since it is very thin and clingy but I find that floating it on top of the hoop works best for me. I did use the suggestion to dissolve the excess pieces in hot water and I put that into a spray bottle and found that it worked well to stiffen the fabric. However I found that the mixture in the plastic bottle spoiled and turned gray. I then read a hint that adding rubbing alchohol to the mixture keeps it from going bad so I tried that and so far, so good. It does the job that I need it to do so I will continue to purchase it.
