Greater than one weekI have a Viking embroidery sewing machine and I swear by this to keep designs from sinking into the material. You can tear off the large piecces from a completed design and the rest will disolve with a few spritzes of water. I collect the pieces and when I have a full ziplock bag I add warm water and make a Sulky glue. You can just brush it on material, let it dry and embroider your design on top. I would only use Sulky glue for washable items.

27-11-2024I use this for all of my machine embroidery. It’s nice to have a 2 pack as I hate to run out of it.

> 3 dayThis helps my embroidery designs remain stable. Its a little thinner than the other weight water soluble stabilizer from Solvy, but it still works good.

> 3 daySaw some recommendations for Sulky to embroider detailed projects, and decided to try it out. Material was much like saran wrap - stuck to itself, difficult to lay flat, could only be written on with a permanent marker, etc. - but I kind of expected that. When it came time to embroider, there was no adhesion to the fabric. I tried pinning it down, but it was difficult to pin it completely flat and was too loose to accurately show what I was trying to embroider. I tried pressing it in my hoop, but the material was stretched too taunt and tore in places, messing up my design. This material might work for machine embroideries or other applications, but when it comes to hand embroidery, Id recommend something else. On an unrelated note, if anyone would like to buy a full roll of sulky minus a 5 x 5 square, let me know

Greater than one weekA little flimsy feeling to work with making it difficult to align with fabric in the hoop.

Greater than one weekThe idea is good, but this material isnt quite as usable as it sounds. Pattern transfer and placement on the fabric works well. And the film dissolves very easily after work is finished, but this also makes the product useless in warm weather or higher humidity - The moment your fingers start to sweat a little or there is too much moisture in the air, the Solvy starts to disintegrate, so every time a needle is pushed through from below, it does not pass through the film, but pushes it up in a gooey, stretchy tent. Eventually the film rips and sticks to the needle in small globs. I guess, I will do my summer embroidery in the fridge...

> 3 dayI used this for sewing the edges of lycra and it was awesome. I found that if I used a piece that was 2 wide I could even reuse the rest that I tore off.

> 3 dayThis is the first time Ive used this product and it was great. So many easy to follow videos on youtube. The one thing it didnt do was stick to the fabric but Im not sure if we bought the right type for that. As soon as you start stitching, it stays in place no problem. Great way to transfer the pattern without having to worry about disappearing ink, etc. I will use this a lot more.
