> 3 dayI had low expectations for these little guys seeing as they were quite a bit cheaper than comprable watt meters with a LED readout. But the ability to connect to Wi-Fi seemed convenient so I decided to give it a try. Theyve easily exceed any expectations and I might even buy a few more. The only issue was set-up was a bit challenging, at least for me. It took probably 10-15 minutes and several tries but eventually I got it to work with the app. I had better luck with the alternate pairing method or whatever its called so you might want to try that right off the bat. Also I think I may have erred by plugging them in before I was ready to pair, you may want to wait until you have the app ready to do that. The biggest pleasant surprise was the quality of the app. (You need to have the app to get any use out of this product.) Ive used a bunch of cheaply made companion apps but this was definitely not one of them. It works very smoothly and the UI is great. Its a bit annoying that you have to create a free account with TOPGREENER to use it but I guess that should be expected these days. It prompts you to share your location but you dont need to do this for it to work. Once set up the app makes it very easy to toggle the power of your plugs, as well as view the current and historical power consumption. If you unplug the units they immediately reconnect to the app when you plug them in again so no worries there. One last thing, I noticed someone here was alarmed that the watts on the readout dont equal volts * amps. Thats because this formula doesnt hold true for alternating current. I cant comment on the accuracy of the wattage figures (which are shown to the nearest 0.1 watts) but they seem to be reasonable. EDIT: Had a space heater (1300 watts) running through the plug for about an hour and when I disconnected it the unit was noticeably warm. I dont think it was a fire risk or anything but just something you might want to be aware of, especially for even higher-wattage appliances.

> 3 dayReally thats all I need to say. If you hate cloud services and want self-controlled systems GOOD NEWS! At least as of January 2021 these do NOT have the new Tuya FW. Meaning you can still use Tuya-Convert to flash these OTA with ESPHome or Tasmota! Calibration is a PITA...just saying, but thats the nature of doing custom firmware and not because of the device itself.

> 3 dayArrived quickly. Downloaded iPhone App, discovered plug and came on-line quickly. Alexa service could immediately control. The iPhone app works well as a remote control, too. Response time is very fast. Easy to move and re-configure, change the name, etc. I ordered as a stop gap to run a sump-pump with a faulty switch - which is why I got the heavy duty plug - and it worked exactly as I had hoped.

> 3 dayWhat I like most about these WiFi enabled smart electrical plugs is that it has all the features that the others have, plus what I really need is to be able to monitor your energy usage. Very helpful when trying to determine if an appliance is starting to go bad, when you see the energy use increases.

> 3 dayEasily and quickly flashable to an open-source and very configurable Tasmota firmware with basically no effort (besides having a Linux computer and a smartphone) as of 2021-06-06, model number TGWF115PQM 2007Ver1.0.0 and FCC ID ZZH-WF10FPM. Internal module is a TYWE2S according to the submitted FCC documentation, and supports 10 amps of current which is plenty for my needs. Cant comment on accuracy because I still need to calibrate them and evaluate their performance/drift over time, but I imagine it is perfectly fine for most folks needs.

Greater than one weekOutlet is very easy to setup and Ive used many different brands before. Literally takes about 1 minute to add and name the device with bluetooth and wifi. Another brand I used that was similar discontinued the energy monitoring part of the outlet due to chip shortages. Tried this brand in its place and worked great. I used the Smart Life app to monitor both sets of outlets. Is great to use not only for wifi controller but monitoring power. Highly recommended. My only complaint is the internal wifi is ok but not great as far as reception. They can be sensitive to barriers / furniture in the way. However this is pretty common across the board for all smart outlets. And no its not my wifi, I work in IT and have a very nice wireless AP.

> 3 dayIm not a big home automation freak, but I did want my air conditioner to get a head start cooking my room down before I got home. This plug was easy to set up, works flawlessly and is UL rated, which not all smart plugs can claim. Since its a two pack, I put my boot dryer on the other plug. I had the dryer on a mechanical timer and wasted a lot of energy, this plug lets me set scheduling for my work days vs my off days. Its awesome.

> 3 dayAt first these worked great. I used them to monitor a grow tent to see how much electricity it was using and to time the light cycles. It worked for a few weeks but then the light timer just decided to stop working and killed my plants. I even chopped it up to a power surge of some sort and added a surge protector and started over. Then it happened again with no disruption in power. These are trash unfortunately, can’t trust them to simply turn off power on a timed schedule. And they are a pain to connect to the WiFi which adds another level of annoyance so my advice is to look elsewhere.

> 3 dayI got these primarily because they were listed as being able to measure power consumption. This feature is getting harder and harder to find in smart plugs and many reviews for other products that are supposed to measure power usage report that the feature has been removed in newer models. I can verify that the power monitoring does work on these. I like to know how much power is being used (aka how much an appliance is costing me to run) and it also helped my identify a freezer that was going out. I noticed a big spike in the power utilization on the freezer and that the temps werent as low as normal. After ensuring that the thermostat wasnt covered in ice, the door was still sealing, etc, its my guess that the compressor was on its way out. Very happy to have caught it early rather than when I opened the door and had a freezer full of spoiled food.

> 3 dayBought these specifically to use Tasmota firmware, based off suggestions found on Reddit. Happy to report that all 6 I received on 2/18/2021 all flashed via the OTA method with zero issues. I had to order from a few other brands (some that I have had success with in the past) that I had to return because they came with updated firmware that prevented this. FYI.
