> 3 dayThere are a few things I like about these plugs. I liked the power monitoring feature, although the app does not work correctly on my iPad. It did work on my android phone. I did not have any trouble pairing and adding the devices. However, there are two big issues that make these outlets a poor choice for me. First of all, they do not remember the state they were in prior to a power outage. If an outlet is on before there is a power outage, it should remember and return to an on state when the power returns. The same if it is off. These don’t. If the power goes out, when it comes back the outlets are off and will stay off until you turn them back on using either the app or the button on the outlet. This is a problem if you don’t realize there was a power outage and there is something plugged into it that really needs to stay on, like a mini fridge. That’s exactly what happened to me. I had my mini freezer plugged into this so I could track how much power it was using. At some point during the day the power blinked and the outlet shut off. The next day I went out to grab something and all the food in the freezer was thawed and I had to toss most of it. Not good. My Kasa outlets don’t do that, they come back on automatically when the power comes back, and they also will complete scheduled tasks whether or not the Internet is up. These outlets will not. I didn’t think that was a huge deal because I have my Kasa outlets for things that need scheduled tasks to function reliably. But honestly, why pay almost the same price for outlets that don’t have as good functionality? But anyway, having to check your outlets every few hours to make sure they’re still on when you live in an area where there are fairly frequent power blinks is totally a dealbreaker for me.

> 3 dayAt first these worked great. I used them to monitor a grow tent to see how much electricity it was using and to time the light cycles. It worked for a few weeks but then the light timer just decided to stop working and killed my plants. I even chopped it up to a power surge of some sort and added a surge protector and started over. Then it happened again with no disruption in power. These are trash unfortunately, can’t trust them to simply turn off power on a timed schedule. And they are a pain to connect to the WiFi which adds another level of annoyance so my advice is to look elsewhere.

> 3 dayThese switches will only work on Wifi on the 2.4 ghz band of your router. Thats ONLY IF your phone is connected to the same band. My Actiontec 3000a says it has both a 2.4 ghz radio and a 5 ghz one BUT when my phone (pixel 3XL) logs on to the 2.4 Actiontec lets it go right back up to 5 gig. No connection, no way. No help from the app, though lord knows I tried every step a thousand times. Also, the internet was no help. But I pored over the settings and found a way to turn off the 5 GHz, and wala, problem solved.

> 3 dayWorks well. Shows amp, watt, voltage, and total kw used. Subtract one star because it only works on 2.4 ghz network. Had to find my old router. Reset user name and password, set up 2.4 ghz access point. Hooked up to my current router. Then use a old phone connect to the 2.4 ghz network. Then it worked.

> 3 dayI bought these to see how much energy my fridge and another appliance was using. These plugs worked good. Now I am currently just using them as a scheduler for my indoor lights. Would by again.

> 3 dayIt works as described. I randomly turn lights on and off while on vacation. I also monitor energy usage of the two wall air-conditioners i have. I wish it would let me monitor i finer time than hours. But it does what i want.

> 3 dayThe device has the same exact model number as the earlier flashable devices. I believe it still utilizes the ESP8266 but has the new Tuya firmware. Works Ok as a Tuya device.

> 3 dayLove that it doesnt cover a second outlet! I dont use the TopGreener app but Kenhub or something instead and it works well. I wish I cold just have a widget to tap to turn on/off switches without it opening the app again or if I can have it for less than 4-5 smart plugs (the widget is big). I havent tried linking it to Alexa yet because Im lazy and its in a different room. I use it for a light so I can get into bed without tripping over things and dying.

> 3 dayIm not a big home automation freak, but I did want my air conditioner to get a head start cooking my room down before I got home. This plug was easy to set up, works flawlessly and is UL rated, which not all smart plugs can claim. Since its a two pack, I put my boot dryer on the other plug. I had the dryer on a mechanical timer and wasted a lot of energy, this plug lets me set scheduling for my work days vs my off days. Its awesome.

> 3 dayThere is no way to export the energy usage data from the app. This would be fine if the outlet group option could let you see the energy usage for all of them at once, but you can only see the energy usage chart of a single outlet at a time, as far as I can tell. Also, you cant really drill down into the data at all. You only really have 2 views of the data: current, and by day/month. You cant even select custom time ranges from what I can see. This is all really too bad, since the rest of the app is designed really well, specifically the automations.
