> 3 dayI bought these to see how much energy my fridge and another appliance was using. These plugs worked good. Now I am currently just using them as a scheduler for my indoor lights. Would by again.

> 3 dayIt works as described. I randomly turn lights on and off while on vacation. I also monitor energy usage of the two wall air-conditioners i have. I wish it would let me monitor i finer time than hours. But it does what i want.

> 3 dayThe outlets worked as described but one was used, this was indicated by the plastic covers missing and when registered it showed power usage from month prior to me buying it... It kinda makes me nervous from a network securities aspect but it does work as described I guess....

21-11-2024Really thats all I need to say. If you hate cloud services and want self-controlled systems GOOD NEWS! At least as of January 2021 these do NOT have the new Tuya FW. Meaning you can still use Tuya-Convert to flash these OTA with ESPHome or Tasmota! Calibration is a PITA...just saying, but thats the nature of doing custom firmware and not because of the device itself.

> 3 dayBought these for all our Christmas lights. So nice not to chase around plugging and unplugging all those extension cords. Liked them so much, we bought another set to use around the house. Nice to walk in a dark room and just speak, and the lights come on. Or, go to bed and just speak the lights to go off. We travel a lot, so I expect the schedule feature to be a real boon. PS these are rated to handle up to 10 amps. The feature to see the electrical demand and usage allows you to know how much you have added, and avoid an overload.

Greater than one weekThe outlet works just like any other smart outlet out there. I recommend setting it up with the Smart Life app as it is the most universally compatible. I have things setup so that when it is time to wake up, my lights turn in and my desktop boots up. You do not need to work with electrical wires, the max wattage is the same as the outlet you plug it into and it is compatible with ittt, Google, and Alexa! The icing on the cake is that it has an accurate energy meter built in. It doesnt update often enough for you to do Gamer Nexus total system power charts but you can get a good idea of your systems energy requirements. My roommates and I have a challenge to see who can use the least energy with our gaming rigs. Last month I used 36kw while they use 72kw! Every little bit helps. I only wish I could measure appliances as well.

> 3 dayBought this little guy with the intent to use it to monitor power consumption on my 3d printer. Of course we decided to use it on the Xmas tree first. The plug linked up well with my google home and its as simple as saying hey google turn on the Christmas Tree I like the fact that i can check it when i am away from home and make sure everything is turned off just in case we forget. We also set up a schedule so the light turns off every night around bed time, just as an extra safety feature. As a side perk i have been randomly turning the light on while my girlfriend is home to make her think the house is haunted.

> 3 dayI liked the first one so much that I bought another because I liked the energy use monitoring and how many scheduling and integration features the app provides. And then realized I had enough other IoT devices like this lately that maybe it was time to put them on a separate dedicated Wi-Fi guest network on my router that cant see the rest of my sensitive internal network … just in case the device mfr doesnt do a great job of security testing as you read a lot these days. The bad news first? - If you need to change the plugs Wi-Fi settings, you have to reset it - and you lose all your schedules and have to set them all back up again. Interestingly, my energy use history was retained as its likely linked back in the cloud to the unique MAC or device ID. Why the schedules couldnt also be retained I consider a bug. - The phone app MUST be on the same network to discover the plug. You cant tell the plug to use a different guest SSID network. So you first have to switch your phone Wi-Fi to that dedicated network you want the plug on and THEN also have to make sure that guest network temporarily allows all devices to see each other or the app times out. - At least the Android app is a bit quirky. It takes several taps on the plug icon on the main homepage to select it despite plug readily working. Annoying. The good news? - Once the plug is on your dedicated IoT network and you switch your phone back to the full Wi-Fi network, the plug still works and RESPONSIVE too. So apparently the phone app no longer needs a direct network connection and everything bounces from TopGreeners cloud servers quite quickly!

> 3 dayFirmware has been patched out of the box as of May 2022. Device is ultrasonically welded, and as such is impossible to get to for serial programming. Worthless for my needs, returning. Probably still works if you want your data stolen by Tuya or you want to eventually get forced into a monthly subscription.

> 3 dayThese are off by default when they are powered up so dont use this on fridge/freezers because if there is even a short power outage these will stay off and your food will get spoiled if you dont notice. They work well otherwise and allowed me to determine the actual power usage of appliances and turn them on and off remotely.
