Greater than one weekI liked the first one so much that I bought another because I liked the energy use monitoring and how many scheduling and integration features the app provides. And then realized I had enough other IoT devices like this lately that maybe it was time to put them on a separate dedicated Wi-Fi guest network on my router that cant see the rest of my sensitive internal network … just in case the device mfr doesnt do a great job of security testing as you read a lot these days. The bad news first? - If you need to change the plugs Wi-Fi settings, you have to reset it - and you lose all your schedules and have to set them all back up again. Interestingly, my energy use history was retained as its likely linked back in the cloud to the unique MAC or device ID. Why the schedules couldnt also be retained I consider a bug. - The phone app MUST be on the same network to discover the plug. You cant tell the plug to use a different guest SSID network. So you first have to switch your phone Wi-Fi to that dedicated network you want the plug on and THEN also have to make sure that guest network temporarily allows all devices to see each other or the app times out. - At least the Android app is a bit quirky. It takes several taps on the plug icon on the main homepage to select it despite plug readily working. Annoying. The good news? - Once the plug is on your dedicated IoT network and you switch your phone back to the full Wi-Fi network, the plug still works and RESPONSIVE too. So apparently the phone app no longer needs a direct network connection and everything bounces from TopGreeners cloud servers quite quickly!

> 3 dayI got these for energy monitoring some appliances. My biggest gripe is that they default to off after a power outage, you have to keep an eye on it if using one on a fridge.

> 3 dayTo bad these were not designed for energy monitoring only. Do not use it on any outlet that where the device or appliance must remain on continuously. It will turn itself off.

> 3 dayI had a recent power bill that was up 50% from the month before and I had not even used the heat or A/C for 30 days so it had to be something in the house. Bought this 2 pack, and while the installation took a bit (has to be 2.4.ghz band on your wi-fi - including the device used to install) they are working as described. It would be nice if the app would allow you to add the local rate for $ charged for power so it could give you a reasonably accurate amount that you are using in a money factor. On a side note, I would not consider this to be an essential item, but it was delivered in 48 hours per PRIME. Nothing that is being sold by Amazon is arriving in less than a week - even when my vehicle was out of commission waiting for car parts.

> 3 dayI bought this primarily to turn on and off pool pumps as well as monitor their energy usage. When I dove into the statistics for energy monitoring I saw my pump is using 2012 mA. That’s 2.012 amps. Volts is 121.3. We know that V*A=Watts. 2.012*121.3 is 245.14 watts. Watts on the app says 146.4. (See pic) So, one of these values is incorrect. I contacted the manufacturer and they said “Currently something is wrong with the calculations, we are working on a solution. I apologize fir the confusion” It took them 2 days to even respond. I have no idea if the kWh is correct since I’m not sure if is based off of watts or volts*amps. I don’t know if any of the numbers are correct since the math says they can’t all be correct. As for the on off functionality it works pretty well. I can control it from my phone. It’s really unfortunate that the energy monitoring does not work though since that’s half the reason I bought it. I can turn my pumps on and off from anywhere though.

> 3 dayThe device feels plastic and cheap but its only the exterior feeling, the device seems to be a very robust one and works almost perfectly, the app is the only downside to it, its just another one of those tuya apps, if you recognize that name, then you know what I am saying, is a copy paste of another apps, and it feels a bit empty on some areas such as the power meter side, but it gets the job done, I wish they would put a bit more effort on the app and expand its capabilities, I am sure it is possible to do it though an app update, and it will greatly improve the possibilities and potencial of the device

> 3 dayWorks well. Shows amp, watt, voltage, and total kw used. Subtract one star because it only works on 2.4 ghz network. Had to find my old router. Reset user name and password, set up 2.4 ghz access point. Hooked up to my current router. Then use a old phone connect to the 2.4 ghz network. Then it worked.

> 3 dayThere is no way to export the energy usage data from the app. This would be fine if the outlet group option could let you see the energy usage for all of them at once, but you can only see the energy usage chart of a single outlet at a time, as far as I can tell. Also, you cant really drill down into the data at all. You only really have 2 views of the data: current, and by day/month. You cant even select custom time ranges from what I can see. This is all really too bad, since the rest of the app is designed really well, specifically the automations.

> 3 dayOverall a good item, but can be improved to be great! Im monitoring a small grid-tie inverter and every few days the plug just turns off (not because of a power outage, which is another issue). This causes the inverter to shut off and electricity to stop being produced. Also would be great to see the hourly or even minutely chart and a feature to reset total consumption.

> 3 dayThis product was simple to install with the top Greener app. Was very easy to link to Alexa afterwards with the related skill. It responds quickly to smart commands. I have it running a heater in my bedroom oh, and I was able to make it on an automated timer in case it ever got left on.
