For years weve had two different access points in the house and its been hit or miss. Finally bit the bullet to get a real mesh system instead of luck of the draw of what you connect to. This was super-simple to setup. Download the app, plug one of the devices in, set it up. Then go and plug the other devices in. Love that it doesnt matter what Ethernet port you plug into. The good: Simple setup. I have two hard wired and one with wifi backhaul. It was just that simple...nothing to mess with, it just figures it out. As I walk through the house, I can see my phone switching access points to stay with the best signal. The Oh...need to change that: By default it sets itself up as a router, doing DHCP and NAT. Worked with no issues, but as my main router was already doing that, I didnt want to double NAT all the wifi. It was very simple to change this over to Access Point only. It is nice to know that if you just have a cable modem, that these can do everything you need with out an actual router. Not something I needed, but super-impressive, and full of features like port-forwarding, etc. The Havent tried that: Apparently I can control this with my Alexa. Havent set that up yet, but some of the options such as disable device x for 30 minutes sounds nice. The Well-I-Dont-Like-That: The app requires your e-mail address, and for you to setup an account with TP-Link to get started. Would prefer that I can just download the app and use the hardware as an option, skipping the account requirement, not gaining whatever features I am gaining by having the account.

There were some spots within our home where the WiFi signal would drop on phones and even on any electronics not hard wired. I purchased this system through a recommendation from a friend. The set was super easy. Make sure to download the app and just follow the instructions. Things have been working very well. So far, im super happy with the product. I used double sided tape to mount each unit on the wall next to an outlet. They look like smoke detectors.

Deco was very easy to install (it almost couldnt have been easier) and use on top of my existing home internet (Verizon Fios) and has made the family room and kids rooms much easier to get a signal. On sale price, it was definitely worth it. I like the 1-year free security - not sure that Ill renew it in a year when the free trial is up though. I wish the range was a little better per unit (for instance, I wish it covered outside further into my yard), but for most houses, the 2 or 3 count unit will meet your needs. I got this on sale about 4 months ago, and its been working fine since. No need to reset anything. Once we moved one unit to give better coverage to the home classroom area to support virtual school during the pandemic, and it was as simple as unplugging from one area and plugging in in a different room. The unit found the other units automatically. I like the app, and that it tells you when devices are connected, etc. (of course, I cant do a lot with MAC addresses, but at least i know that other users arent trying to hack into my network). Finally - and this is very specific, and not confirmed - My home office is in between 2 units, and I feel like sometimes when im on my secure work network, my connection drops - possibly when the signal switches between different units. Then again, this could be my imagination. Overall, a nice piece of kit - super easy to install and works problem free. A little pricey, but worth it to keep everyone connected. I would recommend this, and buy it again.

Easy to install, set up is easy thanks to a very didactic app, signal is strong and it works great! I only wish it could transmit speeds at 1gig and over

I have been really happy with this system. It was really easy to set up, I like the app for the most part, and it all has been working extremely well. The only thing I wanted that I couldnt find, I actually found just now as I was double checking before submitting this. I wanted a way to list all of the devices on my network by their IPs (preferably listing the MAC too). I just found that I could basically do that as part of giving a device a reserved IP. It would be nice if there were a more straightforward way to do that, but now that I know its possible, Im pretty happy.

Before I bought this Deco, my wifi was pretty weak in my family room, and non-existent outside the house. Now I have WiFi coverage in the whole house, the garage, patio, and the yard. Setup was easy. Now any problems are due to my cable provider, which wont be solved while they have a monopoly.

I need to start by saying my apartment is full concrete and it has 150 m2 and now There’s no area in it without wifi. I originally bought it to ensure I could continue working from home and move around the house with my laptop and not miss any calls/meetings. The setup is pretty easy, if you can read and like visual instructions those will be a plus for you. I’ve tested also other features like the signal strength and blocking devices and it works magically and all from my phone. I’d recommend this to anyone!

Good throughout for the price. for power users, wired backhaul is a must. Wireless backhaul is plenty for most users. Good coverage, wonderful app and interface. I’ve purchased WiFi 6 AX routers that still can’t compete with this set. And the price point, forget it. This is a deal even in 2022 for most people.

I needed my Wi-Fi increased to reach the garage. Unfortunately, my router was upstairs and at the other side of the house. This unit increased my Wi-Fi to reach all the way to the garage with no problems. Great purchase!!

Packaging is nice. Setup is easy: download the app and follow the steps, was done in 15 mins. I now have 3 bars of coverage throughout my house and am getting my max internet speed. For reference my home is 2500 ish sq ft and i placed the nodes in master bedroom, living room, and kitchen. Also the iOS app is nifty. Now i see when the fam joins the network. My only complaint has nothing to do with this product ... :) i had to read up on how to turn off my stock ATT router 2.4/5 radio bands Would recommend this product.

Maximum wireless transmission rates are the physical rates derived from IEEE Standard 802.11 specifications. Range and coverage specifications along with the number of connected devices were defined according to test results under normal usage conditions. Actual wireless transmission rate, wireless coverage, and number of connected devices are not, and will vary as a result of 1) environmental factors, including building materials, physical objects and obstacles, 2) network conditions, including local interference, volume and density of traffic, product location, network complexity, and network overhead and 3) client limitations, including rated performance, location, connection quality, and client condition. MU-MIMO capability requires both the mesh system and client devices to support MU-MIMO. Free lifetime subscription to TP-Link HomeCare is included with purchase on select TP-Link models at no additional cost. “Lifetime Subscription” refers solely to the life of the purchased device and cannot be transferred.
