The product works OK. Not a strong extender. My problem is I paid full price to order a new product. The shipment showed up in a brown box with bubble wrap and used, returned items bouncing around. Should of sent back. They get hot so laying on table top or floor the heat builds up because no top air flow. Heat rises!!

I love in a 150 year old home that has plaster walls, so we used to have plenty of dead spots in the house. Added this, which took longer to decide how to place them on the wall than anything else, and now can stream movies games and do online classes anywhere in my house with no lag. Great product.

We have had a busy pandemic year with our AurBnB, and some guests needed to telecommute during their stay and some struggled with the WiFi speed and dropped Zoom calls, until we got the Deco M5. Now everyone has been super happy with the WiFi speed. It’s working great!

Ran seamless wifi to my garage 150 feet away by burrying one network cable 150 feet long. Now i have seamless wifi every inch of my .5 acre property all on the exact same network. Genius!

I had the main Deco connected to my internet, a second Deco about 25 feet away from the main Deco, and a third Deco unit about 25 feet beyond the second Deco (50 from the main Deco). Before purchasing, I asked TP-Links if in this configuration, the third Deco would draw its signal from the second / closer Deco instead of the main Deco and they assured me it will. But in reality, it wont. My third Deco has almost no signal becuase its trying to get the signal from the main Deco 50 away. And TP-Links app does not allow you to manually set the source Deco. So I have no internet signal in the area of my third Deco. I will probably return this product and look for something else that may work.

I like this mesh system. I had one problem with the download and talked to the tech on line and it was solved, turns out It was my error. The only problem Ive had since installing Deco is our cell phones dont seem to have the best downloads, I dont know if that has anything to do with the Deco or a coincident that they seem not as fast? However my television, computer and upstairs tv and computer are all working the best since Ive had them.

This may be fine if youre paying for 200 down but I have fiber and paying for 1 gig. I had a 200 package with the cable company and decided to upgrade to fiber. I first ordered the M5 so it would be setup and ready when my fiber was installed. I was getting between 150 and 200 down which is what I would expect since thats what I was paying for at the time. After my fiber was installed I checked my wifi connection speed over the ATT provided router. 950 down. WOW! I switched networks and connected to the tp-link M5 wifi which was literally a few feet away. My speeds were consistently only between 150 and 200. I made sure I was connected to the device closest to me and not one in the bedroom. I tried disabling 2.4 GHz band. I updated the firmware, I tried putting it in access point mode, I tried using swapping one of the satelite devices with the main one. I made certain no other devices were using data during the tests. I made sure I used the cable tp-link provided. Nothing helped. The speed test function within the tp-link app will test the speed from the main unit but not over wifi. That test shows Im downloading at well over 900! Well that rules out problems with my service provider or the cable to the M5. Frustratingly, not only are speeds terrible over wifi, but theyre terrible over ethernet as well. To be clear, I do not expect 1 gig speeds from the M5 but I do expect at least 500 Mb. For petes sake, can I at least have better than 200? A few years ago I bought a tp-link powerline adapater which would freeze and require a reboot daily. Naturally this usually occurred during an important meeting (I work from home). I returned the device and swore off tp-link forever. I guess I dont learn. Adios tp-link, youve failed me twice now.

Before we got this we had other extenders and they just couldn’t get up to 2nd floor. This mesh system, not only got upstairs, but downstairs as well. It was also very easy to install.

Impressive system!! I bought this after another mesh system wouldnt support my 2.4 g devices. This was a super quick setup, and all of my devices connected no problem. The signal is much better/stronger than my old wifi. Previously, I had limited connectivity in the garage (literal fire wall from the house) and no signal outside (concrete board) but with this system, I have a strong signal well beyond my property lines!! I paired it with an upper mid range motorola modem and its doing great. We have 20 ish devices, 3 floors and ~4000 square feet and the 3 satellites are more than enough.

Maximum wireless transmission rates are the physical rates derived from IEEE Standard 802.11 specifications. Range and coverage specifications along with the number of connected devices were defined according to test results under normal usage conditions. Actual wireless transmission rate, wireless coverage, and number of connected devices are not, and will vary as a result of 1) environmental factors, including building materials, physical objects and obstacles, 2) network conditions, including local interference, volume and density of traffic, product location, network complexity, and network overhead and 3) client limitations, including rated performance, location, connection quality, and client condition. MU-MIMO capability requires both the mesh system and client devices to support MU-MIMO. Free lifetime subscription to TP-Link HomeCare is included with purchase on select TP-Link models at no additional cost. “Lifetime Subscription” refers solely to the life of the purchased device and cannot be transferred.
