> 24 hourIt took about 15-20 minutes to set up, and that was taking my time while hiding the receivers. Helped to extend my home wifi to an outside metal building. The internet speed does drop off by every additional receiver. But still fast enough to stream sports and TV shows.

> 24 hourI bought these Deco M5 mesh routers with high hopes and at first, I thought my prayers had been answered. The initial setup to my Verizon Fios network was easy and they units performed flawlessly right up until the point that return eligibility expired. The system went down and could not be resurrected. I subsequently tried setting them up on a different network with no success. Then there was tech support; or was there? Try calling their tech support number before throwing your money away. You will get a recording that politely tells you that the phone support is not working and directs you to direct chat. Of course they blamed their lack of support on the world wide health crisis. I decided to waste a little more time and tell my story via direct chat. After typing all the details into the chat system, I was connected to a page where they tried to sell me support services with a monthly fee. They apparently think we American consumers are pretty stupid, Just give us more money and well make it work. Do you get the picture? If they work, theyre great. When they dont, youre screwed. I would love it if TP Link would reach out to me and set things straight. If they do, I will happily report it here. Meanwhile, I purchased an Eero mesh system and I did need to contact customer support. They were great and the system performs as it should. Good luck! Its a tough world out there.

> 24 hourWeve had this system for a year. It was ok setting it up, although we did need help from our Verizon provider to get the router settings changed to facilitate their use. After that, the units worked fine. Unfortunately, the entire system crashed after a year. I spent a morning on the phone with a tech support agent that was clearly not knowledgeable. He kept putting me on hold to talk to a supervisor. He was never able to help resolve the issue. He finally stated that our unit might be broken, hed have a supervisor follow up. That never happened. The unhelpful agent has continued to be my point of contact over email. He responds exactly once a day at 5:30 pm. It has been a week of back and forth with a new request every day for another picture of this or of that, online forms, etc. Still, no replacement units have been sent. Not sure whether this will get resolved or not. Even if it does, not sure its been worth the time and headache its been to work with this company.

> 24 hourWe have a large home with 3 floors and a pool in the backyard. The router provided by our ISP left many deadzones. I put 1 Deco M5 unit on each floor in a staggered pattern. The TP-Link Deco M5 system eliminated all of the deadzones! As a bonus, we saw significant speed improvement when gaming on Xbox. I loved how easy it was to set-up: just plug-n-play was sufficient for our needs.

> 24 hourI needed to extend my Wi-Fi, because the signal in my basement was not strong enough. This solution was easy to install and created a great signal throughout the house. highly recommend!

> 24 hourWe had multiple spots in our home where the wifi dropped out or became too weak to use for streaming. I also wanted wifi coverage over our lot so I could listen to podcasts when I mow the lawn. This TP-Link setup works way better than the single Netgear Nighthawk R6400 we were using before. We now get coverage throughout the home and on all of our 1/3 acre lot. The app+configuration is also quick and easy. The one thing I had trouble with is all the options - it seems like TP-Link has a dozen different mesh solutions. We compared this to the M4 and S4 and felt like this offered the most performance for the money. This is physically smaller than the M4 and its supposed to be a little bit more powerful. The size gave us greater flexibility in placing the individual units.

> 24 hourThe hardware works well, but there are a couple of changes that need to be made to the software to make it work correctly. The product does not allow for different network names between the 2.4 GHZ network and the 5.0 GHZ network, so you cannot force an item to the 5.0 by network name. This significantly impacts the speed of that device. As expected, the 2.4 network has greater range. It needs to prioritize connecting to the 5.0 network, if one is available. It seems like it would rather connect to the main Deco on the 2.4 network than a much closer Deco on the 5.0 network. Especially for devices that remain in one place, like a TV or a stationary computer, the app needs to allow you to force the device to connect to a specific Deco and more importantly which network on that device. It is frustratingly hard to get the device on the proper network. I have to do it by first shutting off the 2.4 network, which would be a good option except there are devices that are not 5.0 enabled (Roomba, Sonos). There is an option to shut off the mesh once you have it on the network, but that does not seem to work. When I turn my AppleTV back on, it connects to the wrong network on a different Deco again, so that seems to be a placebo. This seems like something they can add to the app and really improve the functionality. As far as the app is concerned, it took time to hunt all over the app to find out what I needed. For example, you can find out if the device is on the 2.4 vs 5.0 network in the device list, but you have to look at each Deco to find out which one the device is connected. They are nice, small Decos and work really well when you are on the right network. I learned that having them too far apart really impacts the speed at each Deco. I suspect even the Decos might be connecting using 2.4 vs 5.0 if too far apart. It would be nice if it told you more about the Deco connections to each other. I had to figure it out by trial and error. It gives you the impression in the product listing that the setup is much more helpful about helping you choose where to place the Decos. That is not the case, There is no insight. I now have them placed where I get excellent speed on all three units, especially the main one. When each device is connected to the right unit and on the 5.0 network, the speed to the device is good. It just keeps fighting me and connecting the device back to a slower network next time it comes on. Please send a software update to fix this and let me know so I can go back in and update this review to five stars across the board.

> 24 hourIt is strong and easy to set up. I would recommend. It even reached out to our barn that is about 50 yards away. I bought an extra mesh piece for the barn. First time I have wifi out there.
