So far I’m very impressed. Easy, quick, straightforward setup. Using to extend wifi to the opposite end of my home. I’m constantly dropping video calls, and wifi was jumping from 2-4 bars all day. Now it’s steadily full bars and hopefully no more work disruptions.

This thing worked right out of the box. Such a seamless transition from my current TP Link router system. Not only is the range of this mesh system incredible, it provides extremely high download speeds throughout the home consistently. And it definitely works though walls. Easy set up and excellent function.

This product is excellent so far. Easy install and WIFI improvement 100%. I was using a spectrum router before and the router is in the cellar. I would have connection issues in the upstairs bedrooms with this new router no problems at all and noticeably faster.

What can i say, if you need a Mesh network solution, Go get this!!!! this is the best product you can get for your Wifi 6 Mesh network, without need to spend a lot of money. To compare I purchased Orbi 2 Sat and Nighthawk MK62 units, run different tests, and why i choosed Deco X20 over those?, well first the Orbi never worked, i tried with 2 different units and never was able to complete the setup...what a shame Netgear, Nighthawk solution was very solid, but coverage of the Deco is better, more stable, really good improvement for latency and bandwith overall trough whole home. At the end i decided for the Deco X20 for 3 principal reasons: 1- Price, performance similar to Mk62 but cost $50 less. 2- Connection stable during the several tests performed, better coverage dbm, and bandwith. Mk62 just performed slightly better on latency, wich is good but just for a couple ms, i am under 60ms that was my goal, before the mesh system y was aroun 90ms, not good for gaming. 3- Deco has both units with 2 ethernet ports, this gives you the option to connect 2 devices directly wich improoves the download speed, i have 400MB/s at home, it is a 2 floor home and the signal gets really affected from the second floor to the first. Before at first floor i got around 150Mb/s now with Deco between 250 to 300, and with the ethernet cable around 350MB/s. Very recommended!!!, in addition it has the most super easy and super simple incredible setup for who never on their life had touch a wifi device... simple setup for babies, and lot of options like QOS, giving priority to certain devices and setting up your network for different tasks, such gaming, streaming, web browsing etc, this setup gives an extra boost for those activities. Also the network management is free!!!.. other companies like Netgear gives you 1 month free trial and charge you later for the service. This is an extra value added to the product, secure network management and protection. This is an amazing product, thank you TP link!

We are on two years of owning this product. It was such a wise purchase. Set up was so easy, and customer service is outstanding. I really feel like if there is a problem with my MESH NETWORK, TP- Link could always turf me to my main internet provider but they do not!!! They always help me problem solve in layman’s terms in order to keep their product optimized. Would purchase this again and again simply due to their customer service.

After a lightning hit that took out my beloved (and expensive) Ubiquity mesh setup from 2017, I needed a replacement to cover 4,200 sq. ft. of house. This set with three nodes and wifi 6 capability seemed like a good candidate and a price point much lower than other systems. Im happy to report that its living up to my expectations. Setup went pretty well, until I attempted to make one node used a wired backhaul. My house has a small ethernet network, and getting full bandwidth via a wired connection to an endpoint at the other side of the house was a big deal. The problem with wired backhaul is that the ethernet ports on the units are really picky about whats at the other end. The switch I had for the ethernet network was a cheap Netgear unit, the X20 ethernet simply wouldnt recognize it. Even the TP-Link switch sitting next to the master unit had to be power cycled to work with the auto-sensing ethernet port. I replaced the switch in the whole-house network with am inexpensive TP-Link unit and it reliably delivered the backhaul via ethernet. The mobile app used to administer the router is straightforward and has nice features for grouping your kids devices and limiting their connection times. The only thing I would like is to be able to somehow specifically direct a device to a specific, closer endpoint.

Im not usually one to write reviews, good or bad, but I figured I needed to warn people about this one. When I first picked this up I probably would have given it 4 stars. It is (was?) reasonably easy to set up, and has good signal/speed/coverage throughout my home. I would consider myself to be a power user I suppose. Ive historically used routers that can be flashed with Tomato or DD-WRT for all kinds of customization and tweaks and such. I knew before I purchased this that it wouldnt support that, but it seemed like a pretty good deal, good way to upgrade my network on the cheap, so I gave it a shot. The management side of things was always lacking here. Though, again, this is the opinion of someone who used to flash alternative firmwares for fun, so Im sure this was probably right-sized for a good number of users. There is little to no web-based UI to manage this, you must use a phone app that requires a TP-link account to even start, so thats really annoying. And the phone app was never very good, but it exposed at least some of the settings I wanted to play with, so it got the job done well enough. And the router itself did have good signal and speed so I was willing to overlook the management flaws to a degree. However, at some point in the recent past, the app has been upgraded to version 3, and now its essentially unusable. It refuses to connect to the router 95% of the time, with the error we couldnt find a deco and something went wrong with the cloud service. Theres a try again button that does absolutely nothing to solve the problem, just throws up a connecting... spinner for a couple seconds and then right back to the error screen. When the stars and planets align and it does somehow manage to trick itself into connecting to the router, nearly all of the previous settings that were there (and, again, that was never a really great number of settings in the first place) are now gone. The advanced screen is an absolute joke. There is no way to tell the difference between devices on your home network and those on the guest network. Or maybe there is, but the app keeps falling off a cliff before I can get far enough into it to tell. The parental controls show up sometimes, but not all the time. When it does connect, it only connects to the main unit, since the upgrade it has never once been able to see either of the satellite units - which in my case are all wired for Ethernet backhaul, and I know theyre all present and online. If you want a cheap way to upgrade your WiFi network, and youve made enough burnt offerings to the moon god to get the app to connect for a couple minutes and set your WiFi password, and you never want to think about it again, this may work for you. Maybe. If you ever want to change literally any setting ever again, stay far away and save up for something better.

I had a extended ap network in the home which required a long ethernet cable to be ran. I was having issues with speed at the ap. I replaced it with this system and it has worked great. The software is easy to use and makes it so I dont even have to access the fireware to reboot.

Pros: The cost is not as high as some systems. The units have an indicator light which you can turn off at night, or at some hours you choose, in the app. The light tells you the status of the unit. Cons: probably more than most reviews mention. You have to use the app to control the setup and such things and it is a mediocre experience. The indicator lights are REALLY bright. You dont want them on during the night if you want to sleep. The units are fairly large and need space. You might be limited as to where you can get connections. The X20 is not as useful in my home as I expected. The satellite units during a set-up (or reboot) dont consistently connect or reconnect well with the base unit unless sitting next to it. They all seem more susceptible to physical interference than I hoped. The description in the ads touting how well this will expand your wi-fi can too optimistic. I have one room with terrible wi-wi and none of the Deco units will maintain a connection to the main unit even though only a short distance away. The Deco management app is barely useful. There are hidden options and you really need to go to the companys website to get the info you need. Plus one icon is basically there to sell you on an upgrade for security. Set-up should in theory be simple. It isnt in practice. In addition, every reboot or reconnection after a lost signal shows duplicate devices connected, many with unknown as the description. Sometimes no memory of the device names you set up. That leaves multiple mystery entries under the connection list. Way too hard to tell if all the devices are yours, or if you have something unwanted going on, or if these are leftover artifacts from a reconnection. I did have the need to contact the company at one point while redoing the cable/wi-fi/modem connections. The tech tried to help but it was not the best experience. I found the problem later, myself. I think if I had to do this again, I would spend a little more and try for a better system with a really good app.
