> 3 dayIt frequently seems to lose signal strength, particularly with the repeaters/boosters. I have to reboot it about once a week.

> 3 dayIm just getting this setup but I like the fact that there are many ways to connect it: There are two modes to manage this device and each of these has multiple clients: 1. Standalone mode using a web browser. This is the way nearly all consumer Ap work so it should be familiar. 2. Standalone mode using the Omada App for iOS or Android 3. Controller Mode using the software controller application for Windows or Linux you need to download and install. Using this method you can either access the AP directly or remotely via the cloud. 4. Controller Mode using the Omada App 5. Controller Mode using the OC-200 Omada Cloud Controller which is a dedicate hardware based controller you can buy for less than 100.

> 3 dayYou know how you dont really see your own aging on a day to day basis and its only after looking at past photos of yourself that you realize how youve changed? Well, it was like that with our access point. We spent way too many years not fully processing how crummy our internet situation had become. Wed convinced ourselves that we were often getting throttled, or a lot of sites couldnt handle the weekend demand (looking at you HBOMax), or wifi channels were jammed up more than the 405 fwy in L.A. at 5PM, or our neighbors were running something that interfered with our wifi, blah blah. The usual head-in-the-sand denials. Finally took the plunge and bought this unit. Its more than what we need here in our small home, but I wasnt going to take any chance that our new access point would be insufficient... I wanted an 18-wheeler when all we really needed was a 10-ft U-Haul. Now I can run the microwave AND stream a video at the same time — its simply amazing, haha. I cant believe how long we lived under a rock.

> 3 dayPros Setup as a stand alone AP very simple Nice configuration options (VLANs, guest isolation etc.) Software controller option Cons Cloud management requires a separate device Performance wise, this thing is a complete turd. I put a few 1440p security cameras on it and it completely choked; wifi so slow it was unusable.

Greater than one weekI replaced 2 EnGenius EAP1750H APs with these in my home, and the coverage is better. I was having problems with the EnGenius cutting out multiple times a day, and it was the last straw (had intermittent problems from day 1). Just know that you will need some type of Controller to set them up (I used their software on a PC), and that this isnt just a cheap home AP, they are designed for business use. Things I needed was WPA2-Enterprise, Fast handoff, and SSID to VLAN, and all work well. The ONLY thing I didnt like is that I couldnt find a way to have the APs on a management VLAN and have the Controller on a different VLAN. At the end of the day though, it is my home, so I ended up putting them on my family VLAN. If you havent noticed, my home network is probably more complicated than most small businesses, but I am a network guy, and I like the feature set.

> 3 dayThis review is for EAP245 (AC1750). After a bit of research Ive decided against a mesh system to upgrade the WiFi in my home, instead turning to this (more cost effective) solution which appears to work great. I found an ideal location in the upstairs closet where I was able to drop a single CAT cable through the HVAC cold air return, this made it possible to use this Access Point fairly easily. A straight plug-in to an open slot on an existing POE switch (used for POE security cameras-wired to a router) made the installation quite simple. Configuring it using a Windows laptop took about 10 minutes to set up new SSIDs/PWs. I am not an IT guy and my only tool to indicate improvement in my signal is by using Ooklas Speed Test App. Im quite amazed that in every corner of my two-level townhouse, I could get identical download and upload speeds between wired and wireless connections. Initially I thought I would need an Access Point unit for each level but a single one on the highest level takes care of everything. Its been only about 2 weeks since installation, hopefully this works for a long time.

> 3 dayI am honestly not sure why these are so highly rated. I have used different manufactures but never TPLink this are not good. They sort of work as basic APs as they provide wireless but that is about it. They are not really configurable and seem to have an issue with VPN connectivity (pay attention at home workers). I had these placed throughout the house direct connected back to a TP link POE switch connected to an ARRIS modem outer. That all worked but in stand alone mode the radios conflicted and I could not get a reliable VPN connection back to work. I thought it may be Pulse VPN so I went to work and checked the logs and there were drops from the client side meaning that it was my home connection. I thought the radio conflict may be the issue with VPN so I set up the Omada controller on a desktop so the APs could see each other and work in tandem. Still the same issue. VPN would connect but drop constantly. I checked to see if it may be an issue with the MTU settings but I could not find that setting on the APs and I tried adjusting the settings on the ARRIS. I thought the issue may be with ARRIS ModeWIFI router so I took the TP Link APs off line and used the WIFI through the ARRIS router and everything worked and the VPN stayed up with no issues. Why even use the APs? You ask. Large house and the signal from the ARRIS dies at the far end so I tried a business class solution. Bottom line is TP LInk is garbage. Ubiquity is a better system and is worth the extra money. If you are trying to set up a system that can handle devices using VPN get Ubiquity or a whole home Mesh system. Ubiquity, Netgear are two better that will blow TPLink away. Walk away you will not be disappointed you passed on these.

Greater than one weekFirst off let me start by saying that unless you have a ton of WiFi 6 devices YOU DO NOT NEED WIFI 6. In fact, depending on the age or type of device you may get slower speeds or not be able to connect at all to WiFi 6 so be wary of techs trying to upsell on the newest tech as you may not even need it. This device has AMAZING coverage, 3300 SqFt home on a 1/4 acre and I can use Spotify on an old phone with no service minus the wifi and not lose signal, even going to my neighbors house next door. Like the headline says, I have the better part of 2 decades of networking experience and I can safely say these check all the boxes of what I needed. I was only using one upstairs as it was more than enough but decided to add a second one downstairs that is bridged to this just to add a true mesh system to my home, potential resale value as people pay exorbitant amounts of money on mesh systems that are hot garbage in my opinion. Unless hardwired all youre doing is getting something with a stronger signal to grab that wifi and redistribute, while those work nothing will beat a hardwired system
