I have 2 EAP245 and 2 EA225, they all work well and easy to install and maintain. I only wish the Omada SDN controller software had a better UI and was more intuitive. TPLinks support is excellent.

Pros Setup as a stand alone AP very simple Nice configuration options (VLANs, guest isolation etc.) Software controller option Cons Cloud management requires a separate device Performance wise, this thing is a complete turd. I put a few 1440p security cameras on it and it completely choked; wifi so slow it was unusable.

Very easy setup, holding signal strong. Better than ubiquiti

Wifi coverage is great. The UI is good. Whether it delivers speed expected is assuming xfinity is true to their advertised speeds. Ended up downgrading plan bc their gig line never got close to it.

I am honestly not sure why these are so highly rated. I have used different manufactures but never TPLink this are not good. They sort of work as basic APs as they provide wireless but that is about it. They are not really configurable and seem to have an issue with VPN connectivity (pay attention at home workers). I had these placed throughout the house direct connected back to a TP link POE switch connected to an ARRIS modem outer. That all worked but in stand alone mode the radios conflicted and I could not get a reliable VPN connection back to work. I thought it may be Pulse VPN so I went to work and checked the logs and there were drops from the client side meaning that it was my home connection. I thought the radio conflict may be the issue with VPN so I set up the Omada controller on a desktop so the APs could see each other and work in tandem. Still the same issue. VPN would connect but drop constantly. I checked to see if it may be an issue with the MTU settings but I could not find that setting on the APs and I tried adjusting the settings on the ARRIS. I thought the issue may be with ARRIS ModeWIFI router so I took the TP Link APs off line and used the WIFI through the ARRIS router and everything worked and the VPN stayed up with no issues. Why even use the APs? You ask. Large house and the signal from the ARRIS dies at the far end so I tried a business class solution. Bottom line is TP LInk is garbage. Ubiquity is a better system and is worth the extra money. If you are trying to set up a system that can handle devices using VPN get Ubiquity or a whole home Mesh system. Ubiquity, Netgear are two better that will blow TPLink away. Walk away you will not be disappointed you passed on these.

Performs decently for the price, no point in spending more as the more expensive Access Points perform no better than this one. The Omada software and customer support is garbage. If you ever encounter a problem you will regret putting the effort into setting this stuff up.

i like that i can make a special ssid for the kids devices, then schedule it to turn off at night automatically. now if i could get alexa to control the wifi, that would be great.

I recently dumped my consumer grade mesh network for a home built pfsense router and added these APs along with the OC200 for management. I have to say that the firmware upgraded has provided a fantastic experience mgt of wifi. Guest configuration including setting up basic captive portal and VLAN is easy. Signal in my home has never been better. I have 3 APs covering 3 floors without issue. Stability seems rock solid so far. Will continue to update as time goes on.. 9/8/2020 Still enjoying this product combined with their oc200 and my pfsense NUC. The OC200 makes mgt of your WiFi a breeze. Stability is fantastic and speeds are still rock solid. Roof mounting APs still beats mesh satellites sitting in various rooms. Setting up vlan and configuring a captive portal guest wifi were easy. I would still like to have some additional reporting and block functions related URLs at some level. Btw..the people complaining about the inability to get 300 Mg down close range. I get 350 pinned. Im approximately 10 ft right now from one of my aps. My suggestion to them is maybe look at a better router or better internet provider.... 9/14/2020 After upgrading my Router, tweaking and confirming my new 1GB service speed, I am not happy with results and lowering my review pending an update from TPLINK support. I should be getting closer to gig down with CAT 6e cable and a GS108PEv3 (Powered switch) Best I can get is 400 mb right below the AP. More to come... 20/27/2020 Cant find where my network is being throttled. Short of adding an access point from a competitor, I should clearly be exceeding 300 mb. The POE switch is a GS108PEv3, I have router with 1 gb ports (physical connection gets close to 1gb) and cat 6e cable throughout. I have to assume its something to do with the APs. Tech support has sucked for lack of better words. (thanks for the canned FAQ that was useless..) Stability is great..but need this solved.. Sept 2021 After several updates, further tuning, I am pleased with stability of the wifi and speeds. I am getting slightly better speeds. The key is stability. I dont have drops like my original consumer neteork equipment that I had in the past.
