> 3 dayI recently bought the Treatlife outdoor dimmer plugs so I didnt have to manually turn off the string lights I have on my patio, and this has made life so much easier. I was able to set-up a schedule with the dimmer plug so that the lights turn on/off automatically, and now I dont have to do it manually. Ive forgotten to turn them off so many times and they stayed on all night long, so now Im not wasting electricity anymore. I also connected it with Alexa, which was incredibly easy to do. It works seamlessly, and Im amazed at how responsive it is when you give Alexa commands to control the dimmer plug, almost instantaneous. These have worked out so well that Im ordering more plugs to use for my Christmas tree lights, as well as my outdoor decorations and lights this year.

> 3 dayAfter struggling with my two so called Semi-automated 12 volt landscape light timer/transformer, Not anymore, I finely have a solution that put control in the palm of my hand (Cell Phone). The 12 volt landscape lighting timer/transformers were always off and required me to climb in the bushes to reset the on off functions which was a pain in the butt. I came across these TREATLIFE Outdoor Dimmer Smart switches on Amazon and thought I’d give them a try. Well I can tell the devises are well made and super easy to install just plug and play. The TREATLIFE app makes it super easy to program any of their smart switches from anywhere that you have a WIFI connection. I use this as a Dusk to Dawn timer switch for the LED lights in the bushes in the front of my home. You can watch many YouTube videos that can show you how to install and use these devices. Two words - Great devices!

> 3 dayWorks great. Very intuitive to use. My 14 year old daughter stole one from the two pack for herself. Hooked them both up to Alexa devices without issue. I now have a dimmable lamp in my livingroom that I scheduled to automatically turn on and off. Only downside is it is a little bulky and the plug has to be in the bottom socket if you want to use both plugs. Very friendly company that actually cares about their customers input so I wouldnt be surprised if this gets addressed in a 2nd gen. Would recommend company and their products.

21-11-2024Great product to dim LED string lights. Includes additional dimmer sensitivity settings in case the set of lights you have flicker while dimming. Integrates with Echo and Google Assistant. One star knocked off for the app being a bit confusing at first in relation to the dimmer sensitivity settings. Also the product is called TreatLife, but you need to enable the Amazon skill SmartLife to have it connect. Theres another skill called TreatLife, which is clearly the same manufacturer, but doesnt work and just causes confusion. The other negative is there is no local automation control of this out of the box and it requires cloud connectivity (for local smart hubs like Hubitat). Apparently there is a way to flash the firmware, but I just did a workaround to use cloud connectivity to the Hubitat for my simple automation.

> 3 dayIve used a small handful of IoT products from this company- light switches, outlet plugs, timer plugs... so I felt like I knew what to expect when I got these. The outcome was better than I expected, though. While not altogether a super simple process, the Wi-fi pairing process was easier- at least it seemed so to me. The quality of the product itself was, to my surprise, quite superb. The plastic is hard and durable, and the cord is thick and also seemingly durable, allowing some pretty rugged outdoor use where needed. Of course, the switch is grounded, too, allowing for more safety in all scenarios. In my case, I have both being used indoors, but its nice, all the same. The controls are actually really nice, too. I particularly like the feature which allows the user to set a dimming limit. In other words, if you have it connected to dimmable LED lights, and those lights (as most do) have a tolerance limit at which they stop dimming, you can set the app to not be able to dim lower than that level. Honestly, the biggest downside on these things is that if you want to mount it, there is only one mounting hole for a screw... which is really not that bad, at all. One other thing to keep in mind is that the plug is a right angle. In other words, the cord goes immediately straight down. Its a VERY nice feature for looking discrete and saving space immediately in front of the outlet, but not hand if you have another plug on the same outlet that also is right-angled. Honestly, these are well worth the buck if you are looking for an outlet dimmer switch- whether you use it indoors, or out.

> 3 dayOK, some of the problem MAY be my inexperience with stuff like this, but Ive been using computers since the 1960s and I dont usually have such difficulty. The instructions were extremely unclear as to how to get the dimmer plug set up, and the venue was not easy to work within (I set it up where I planned to use it, in a wall outlet between some furniture. I probably spent 5 or 6 hours because it didnt operate the way I had eventually gathered/interpreted it should. Putting into pairing or discovery mode worked sometimes, and other times (if I failed to get it discovered) I had to unplug it and plug it in again (I think I had to. its hard to say.) Once that was done, connecting to Alexa was more of the same, and Alexa couldnt find it. The instructions were completely unclear, repeating things Id already done, etc. I tried chat support on my phone and the chatters instructions were impossible to follow while using my phone at the same time. Eventually it was the next day and they sent me some attachments but by then id gotten it working. But then I was prompted to download yet more software for it and that reversed the whole process. Back to square one, and more hours. Now its working and it works great, except the only way to control it is by phone, I gather. Cant do anything actually AT the device. Maybe this is all par for the course. Actually I hope so because I have not been willing to set up any other device because Im catching up with the things i didnt get done while trying to master this one. I do NOT think it is the device, but what I see as a basic incoherence and/or writing and chat communication ineptitude (yes, partly mine). What a nightmare.

> 3 dayGot this to control outdoor rop light on deck. Easy to set up and use. Works great. Can adjust dimming range. A neat feature is that when you shut off the lights, it phases them out. Have a number of Treatlife products now in my house. Great technical support. Answer questions quickly. Highly recommend.

> 3 dayI love this smart plug! Super easy to install and the mobile app is so useful and convenient. But I want to point out one thing. Youd better check your Wi-Fi network before you purchase this if its 2.4 GHz or not. If not, buy something else.

> 3 daySo far so good. These were easy to set up and integrate with my other smart switches/plugs. I chose to use the smartlife app rather than Treatlifes app since I also have several plugs from other brands in my house. As another reviewer mentioned, if using smartlife, just select the socket wifi option when adding. The program will recognize these plugs as dimmers. The plugs are rated IP44 which technically is splash proof - which is fine for my application since I am using them outdoors but undercover. Im not sure how comfortable I would be with placing them in a fully weather exposed location. I purchased 2 of these smart dimming plugs to control dimmable LED string lights around my patio. I am using 1 plug to control the perimeter string lights, and 1 to control the string lights over the seating area to allow for independent control of the lighting as needed. They can dim my string lights flicker free down to 1% though I find 10% is about the lowest useful setting for me. It is very cool to have my lights on a schedule as well as fully controllable via the app or voice control (Alexa or Google).
