This works great for a party, and the colors were fantastic. Really we all loved it and having and extra variety of colors made it even better. However, buy an additional plastic cover for the surface your working on, because the one included is small (6ft by 8ft if that). And we (group of 6 people) were able to dye about 10 garments (a mixture of shirts, tank tops, and socks) so even though it says it will dye 36 items, thats a significant overestimation.

Super easy to use and colors turned out so bright and nice! Other tie dye kits we’ve used in the past the colors weren’t as bright and faded once you washed them! I highly recommend this product and will us it again!

We used this kit to tie dye at my daughters 5th bday party. We did about 8 kids shirts and 10 adults. We had enough left for probably 2 more shirts. The dye is really vibrant and was easy to use.

Buying this kit was a no-brainer as I was searching for a simple kit with many color options, and pretty cost effective. Ill add some tips that will help your colors pop, and stay sharp wash after wash. Get yourself some organic urea nitrogen, and soda ash for dye. Both can be found here on Amazon under the Jacquard brand. Dick Blick has both of these items for considerably less cost, but I wanted everything to arrive at once so I ordered everything from Amazon! Step 1: Add two cups of the soda ash to two gallons of warm water, and dissolve. Be careful with this step as the fumes can be quite caustic. WEAR GLOVES. The soda ash will severely dry out your hands, and its just an unpleasant experience. Add items you wish to Tie dye to the water, and soda ash mixture, let sit for around an hour, be sure that items are thoroughly soaked. Step 2: since the dye is in 12, 4 ounce bottles, add only one half tablespoon of the urea organic nitrogen to the dye powder before filling with warm water, and shaking! Shake it up!! Shake it real good, yall! Now, your dye bottles are filled, your items are soaked, and your knees are shaking because you are ready to dye! Wring out all excess water from your items, and choose your design. This kit has a paper showing different designs, but YouTube is a great place to look up ideas! Now, if you wear any size shirt greater than a Mens large, I recommend doing the sunburst design, as it takes considerably less dye to cover, and saturate. Smaller items will look much better tie dyed, such as socks and underwear. As you can see in my photos. Finally, youve dyed all the things! Use plastic bags or saran wrap to wrap them each individually, never place two dyed items together or the colors will bleed into one another. This kits specifies to wrap for 8 hours, but I waited around 18 hours before unwrapping. Rinse excess dye out with COLD water, and wash on delicate, with cold water! Dry however you wish! I hung mine up to dry.

Tulip in the number one brand in Tie Dye. Make sure you follow the directions to keep from making a huge mess and ensure the dye takes properly. Before using I would search the internet for videos as they are many, many ways to create fun and beautiful patterns. The biggest warning I can give is, this is not for little kids, the dye will stain anything it touches. Also, use latex or nitrile gloves, the cheap plastic ones provided get in the way.

Great family project! We made four shirts and still had a ton of dye and supplies left over! Color was vibrant and has lasted!

Purchased this - new but open box- IT WAS USED, loose powder all over the box, half the pigments were gone. I still use it because I was on a deadline and needed to finish some projects but I had to go out and purchase another kit because this one (was supposed to have 12 colors) was used!!!!!

This kit is fantastic. Easy set-up, clear directions, good quality product. We used 5 colors to make 6 shirts and there was probably enough dye left to make another 12. The color is vibrant and I love that the kit came with everything needed to have fun and keep things mess-free.

My grandkids had a blast the dying t-shirts with this set. We tie dyed about 20 t-shirts with this and still had plenty of dye left over. Bright vibrant colors. After wearing their shirts all summer they still look like when we dyed them.
