> 24 hourI have several UNI-T instruments and I have found them to be well made and less expensive than bigger name brands. The circuit tester function of the device works well and is clear to read and understand thanks to the onboard labeling showing what the light combinations mean. The GFCI tester worked perfectly. The circuit breaker locator function takes a little more effort to learn to use effectively, but I quickly found a way to make it consistently locate the correct breaker. When I started using the locator probe I found that it would trigger prematurely if I touched the white part to the circuit breakers. Typically more than one circuit breaker would trigger the locator tone as I got close to the correct breaker and I couldnt adjust the sensitivity to prevent that (either there would be no detection or multiple detections). Remembering something I discovered with my underground wire tracer, I lifted the probe off the circuit breaker by about 1/4 to 1/2 and then scanned for the correct breaker. This resulted in perfectly reliable operation. That may be something specific to my brand of circuit breakers or the length of the wire runs in my home, but if you struggle with getting an accurate reading, give it a try and see if this is a helpful tip for you too.

> 24 hourBe sure to read the instruction manual. Purchased this to trace a circuit....and it worked flawlessly. Highly recommend.

> 24 hourWe had changed out our load center some years back and never got around to labeling the breakers, well thats not good. When you need to know, you often need to know at that exact moment, what breaker is what, so I took this thing and was able to quickly go from room to room or outlet to outlet and find the source breaker/circuit, now no more headaches when I need to find a particular one. This also makes a great NCV detector, so once its duties are done as a finder in the home it can still be helpful later on.

> 24 hourI wish I had one of these a long time ago. It works for me. As long as you understand you need to start out with the receiver on high sensitivity them gradually decrease it to lower sensitivity (go from general to specific to zero in one the exact breaker), you should be fine. The transmitter device seems to be exactly like one I already owned and are sold by themselves. It may just send some kind of signal the receiver detects. If you have an old home with multiple wiring revisions done over the years, this is a kit that will save you a lot of time.

> 24 hourFor sure not as accurate as the brand name tools but it gets the job done and just takes a little longer to figure it out. Totally fine for home use, Not for business use.

> 24 hourWe just moved into a new home, but discovered the electrical panel was poorly labeled. This tool helped us map all the wall sockets to their appropriate breakers, so we can power down only the outlet we need without affecting others. This is an extremely useful tool to have around.

> 24 hourThis kit takes the guesswork out of testing electrical outlets, and it speeds up circuit breaker identification by narrowing the possibilities to a manageable number. I only wish that the receiver wand was equipped with a signal strength indicator, for better accuracy while finding breakers. The plug-in outlet tester/transmitter works well, with bright lights that are easy to see. A color-printed decoding chart is conveniently included on the label, making it simple to interpret the results. The test button works as it should, causing my bathroom/garage GFCI outlets to trip immediately. The tester is ETL Listed, giving confidence that the kit is safe to use. The circuit breaker finding/receiving wand gets the job done, but it’s imprecise in operation. The wand tells you (with beeping and a flashing light) when it detects a signal from the outlet tester, but it’s either alerting or not, with nothing in-between. That’s not ideal, as on my electrical panel, the wand alerts on up to five breakers simultaneously, and adjusting the sensitivity doesn’t help. Having some indication of signal strength might narrow that down to one or two breakers, but this unit offers no such help. Overall, this is a decent testing/locating kit, but the wand could be better at telling you what’s going on. As it is, the kit can locate breakers to within a handful of possibilities, and that’s certainly better than nothing, but I had hoped for a little more precision.
