UNI-T AC Circuit Breaker Finder with Integrated GFCI Outlet Tester AC 90-120V USA Plug + Adjustable Sensitivity Beeper Indicattion+ Flashing LED Light this is a sweet little gadget! Wish I had one of these when I was still doing remodeling work. Back in the old days youd have to plug in a light, 5hem hollar over to your buddy wife for kid, generally from the basement, hey! did it go out yet? Nope. Not yet... None of that nonsense with this little guy. Basically no problems getting it to work You start at the highest sensitivity and it did beep on about 4 circuit breakers then you dial down the sensitivity and then it didnt beep at all then you dial it up a just a little bit and then it beeps on just one breaker. brilliant. Just brilliant. One thing I did notice though is I have a power strip plugged into a power strip plugged into another power strip and I put the transmitter into that last power strip and that did not show up at the panel. So it does seem To be better if you plug the transmitter directly to a wall outlet. Would absolutely recommend this.

So this circuit breaker finder is not bad at all. I tried it a few times in different locations and for the most part it worked for me. Only one instance it didnt work as expected. Very easy to use, nice and compact and comes with a nice carrying case. Overall not a bad product at all.

This is a great tool to track down circuits in your home or office. easy to use, and works well. does a good job of helping you figure out what is what in the breaker box.

Ive used a handful of these style circuit breaker finders, and they never work 100%, but they always help to narrow it down to 1 or 2. That alone can save me a lot of time. This one is no exception. Its important to remember to slowly scan all the breakers at least once before diagnosing. It has a sensitivity adjustment. I started it out on max, and it showed most of the breakers as positive. I turned it down about half way, and it showed 2 breakers that were next to each other. The first one I tried was the correct breaker. I also like that it comes with a wiring checker and gfci tester. If you dont already have one of those, this becomes a very handy set. Overall a great tool. Highly recommended.

The purpose for getting this device was so that I won’t have to flip all my circuit breaker switches off to find the right one. This did not work for me. I read the instructions, watched YouTube, read Amazon reviews for tips, adjusted sensitivity, the position and the distance of the toner - all of which did not help. It identified multiple, and the ones identified were not the right circuits! At one point, the toner made noise in two completely separate electrical panels while probing! (Mind blown!) I plugged in the transmitter to different receptacles, and in different rooms. Lastly, I took it to a friends house for him to try. He knows a lot about electricity and he did not spend as much time as I did with it before he determined that the device doesn’t work. We have conclude that this thing doesn’t work on U.S. homes built on or after year 2004. I was very hopeful and excited when I ordered the device - ended up disappointed.

I often thought something like this would be a godsend to a homeowner who does minor electrical repairs. Instead of turning on and off every breaker in the house, requiring multiple clock resets, you plug this into an outlet, go down stairs and Voila, you find the right breaker and turn it off. Of course you do the necessary verifications afterward, but this saves you a lot of running around (especially if you are alone). When I used this for the first few times, I was convinced it did not work. So I held off doing my review, convinced it was user error and having used this on multiple breakers since, figured out that was the case. If you have the sensitivity on low (spinning wheel adjustment you turn it on with), you will get no breakers showing as the right one. If you turn it on high, you will get multiple breakers. The secret is to turn this thing up or down till you get one. When you initially turn it on, it is on max by default, rotating down, it gets lower. I found this super confusing. The reverse would make more sense, or if the light got duller when low and brighter when high. I kept turning it the wrong way. But that is me. However I checked 6 outlets in my house and initially some showed multiple breakers until I adjusted the sensitivity down. Most often adjoining, but one was not. Even testing on one of those outlet extenders (ones that go over an outlet and add outlets, USBs and even a shelf), it got the breaker. For the most part, I have some breakers labeled, but like most houses; additions and changes to the structure make finding the proper breaker a bit of a hunt and peck operation. Not all are labeled. The part you plug in also functions separately to check for the status of the outlet. I know years ago at my Mom’s there was this one outlet that used to give me a shock each time I used it and I found out using one of these types of detectors that it was not properly wired. An electrician fixed that one. He was surprised that it was even noticed. Mine you, I got a shock every time I used it, so hard not to notice. Tools like this can help you make your house safer. One thing I nearly failed to mention is the nice carrying case this comes in. So often tools go in a bag or drawer and sit until you need them. This case holds everything including the instructions and to me is a great addition to keep the integrity of this set of tools.

You simply plug the tone generator unit (which also works as an outlet tester) into an outlet, and tone is automatically sent to the circuit box. If the circuit is off, however, the tone sender unit is not powered, and no tone is generated.

How should I adjust the sensitivity?

Adjust the sensitivity of the receiver to the minimum and keep slowly turning it up during the measurement until it can be accurately located to the break.

Does the power have to be on for the tester to work?

Yes, it must be powered on to test the circuit break, the receiver also needs to use a 9V battery to receive the signal, but we come with the package with a 9V battery.

The receiver just beeps at all the breakers. What should i do?

Turn down the sensitivity before using it, otherwise it will beep at any break until it is adjusted to a critical point, this critical point needs to be found by you, try it a few more times and you will find break.

Will it work if there is no electricity to the socket?

No, it will not work without electricity. The socket must be connected to 90-120V mains to power the transmitter inserted into the socket.
