> 24 hourI bought two of these monitors for my home office, and mounted them to a dual monitor arm... I also bought the Assurion 4 Year warranty to go with them. These monitors have worked great for the last two years, however, one of them has a problem with the HDMI port now, and called Assurion to file a claim, and get the monitor replaced. Because I have them mounted on a dual monitor arm, I had no use for the monitor stand that comes with the monitors, and we got rid of those. This is where the problem with Assurion comes up... because I no longer have the monitor stand to send back with the monitor (that they are just going to destroy anyway), the REFUSE to honor the warranty, and will NOT process my claim. According to the rep I was speaking with, if I cannot return EVERYTHING that was included on the box, then they cannot (WILL NOT) honor the warranty, and will not proceed with the claim. ASSURION IS A SCAM! Buy the monitors, which outside of this lone issue, have been great, but do NOT buy the warranty!!!

> 24 hourAfter my old Acers died, I decided it was time to step it up to 1080P. However, even for someone that has worked with computers for nearly 25 years; monitors are extremely difficult to buy. In fact, it took me 3 weeks to finally pull the trigger on a pair of these VX2452MHs over the equivilent Asus, Acer, and BenQ low response gaming monitors. On to the review, which is going to be short, from a dual-screen perspective, and about 3 days of usage. I’m going to try to answer questions that I initially asked myself about the screens as part of the review. Additionally, I’m not using the 2W speakers and I immediately mounted these guys to a dual-screen stand, bypassing the unadjustable OEM stands. So, are they easy to setup? Very easy, my screens are currently connected to my PC via DVI, and the visual quality of these monitors is indeed stunning right out of the box. Just to note, inserting the cables can be a bit of a pain because you have to *lightly* push down on the plastic back to get the connectors to plugin; so make sure to take your time with the external setup. Once powered on, the screen takes 2 seconds to turn on, and they are very bright, so make sure to turn them down a bit. How about dead pixels? I bought two screens and neither had any dead pixels. Is it a glossy screen? Nope, its also an anti-glare screen. How about the buttons and menu? The control buttons sits under the right bottom edge of the monitor and the menu is very functional, easy to read, and every setting is adjustable – even the response time. That’s nice, but are they good for PC gaming? To be completely honest with you, the screens are so good that you don’t have to adjust any setting other than the brightness. When you switch over to ‘game mode’ the response shoots down to 2MS and there is absolutely zero ghosting in games such as BF4, Terraria, and Left 4 Dead 2 at 1080P/60hz. I plan to try GTAV, and Shadow of Mordor as soon as I have a chance to download them again, but I’m sure they’ll be even more stunning than before. My end goal is to manually adjust the screens, but I havent had the need as of yet. So you really like them? Yes, for the price tag versus performance they are excellent. You won’t be able to get a better 24 Inch LED TN panel at this price outside of Black Friday. In my opinion, ViewSonic did an excellent job making sure these killer screens were well worth the price tag. Just keep in mind that these are GAMING monitors, so people looking to buy these for web design, video editing, and photo shop may have a different opinion. I suspect a lot of the lower star reviews are non-gaming reviews.

> 24 hourI bought this monitor about a year ago, a year and two months to be exact. I looked at the reviews, and thought this look like an excellent monitor for $200!(that was the price when I bought it at the time) So i went ahead and bought the monitor. It arrived, and it was straight away plugged into my old computer. It looked great. Good to the point where it needed almost no color correction, right out of the box. Then a couple months went by, and Im still using the monitor. Then it happens. Suddenly black, nothing. I thought my computer just quit on me. I looked at my mouse and keyboard, but the lights were still on. After about five minutes of trying to figure it out, I found that the power cable was loose. Great. so now every time your desk moves a little bit, the connection will cut out. Power is gone. That is annoying, so I eventually just taped the power cord to the monitor, which works. Now on to my second complaint, everything look sharp, text, pictures, and even video game, on this monitor. Except one thing... videos. The videos on this monitor look atrocious, absolutely horrible. And i know for fact that it isnt my internet quality. Its just that this screen is terrible, and I mean TERRIBLE, for watching videos. I dont know why, but it looks like it is streaming at 144p. Which is unacceptable.Other than those tow extremely annoying things, it does what it is supposed to do. I only wish that the power cord and videos were like other monitors. IF those were fine, and it everything was good, I might have bought another monitor from View Sonic. But that is not the cae, next time I will be shopping and buying, from different companies.

> 24 hourGood picture quality. Im using this as a third monitor on my triple monitor stand on my desk, but using it now just as a TV. I wanted to have all three monitors match in size and style. I have no complaints about the monitor itself, but the speakers are too weak to be used for a TV or for gaming. Also, the controls are not very intuitive, and the monitor does not come with a remote. You have to push a couple buttons to get to the volume control, then you have to manually exit out of the menu. Like I said, Im using it as a TV, which is not really what a straight monitor is for, so these complaints might not apply to everyone. Thats why I still gave the monitor four stars. For the price, the picture quality is great. But the speakers are weak and the button controls are not very intuitive, no matter what youre going to use this product for.

> 24 hourBought this 3 years as a secondary monitor, and its still going strong. Its nothing fancy, but price wise, at the time it was great. Viewsonic has always done all right by me, will always buy their products. Highly recommended if it was 2019. Will use until it dies.

> 24 hourFor the price I paid to give my mother a modern monitor for her computer, I am pretty impressed. All of your standard inputs are here: DVI-D, VGA, and HDMI, along with a 3.5mm audio input. At 1920x1080, the picture is sharp enough at a distance of about 3 feet away. The colors are initially a little washed out from out of the box, but futzing with the settings produced a picture that I would consider optimal for competitive gaming (using DVI so far), along with the very low 2ms response time of the panel, it would serve any starting gamer with the best product for the money. My mother is using this for more screen space for work in her home office, which has passed with flying colors in her initial tests (web browsing, sorting through pictures, writing up product descriptions, publishing websites, etc.). Pros: Wide selection of inputs for 1080p sources Very quick and easy setup out of the box (throw out the disk, you wont need it) Well packaged and secure within the box Included DVI-D and VGA cables in the box Great response time Relatively cheap for a good quality panel Matte screen Cons: Colors are still a little washed out after messing with settings Audio is horrible on the built-in speakers Very shiny, fingerprint prone bezel (easily fixed with a quick wipe-down) Final thoughts: I would recommend buying this for any small home office/business office, noob gamers getting into PC gaming, or for students needing extra screen space for editing/creating documents.

> 24 hourI have no idea what happened. I just came home one day and noticed, while plugged in, the orange light wasnt on. Ive tested several outlets but nothing turns it on any more. Theres also no clear way to disassemble and see if its a PSU issue.

> 24 hourI dont see many reviews from Mac users on monitors, so heres one for you. I just received this monitor this morning and have it connected to my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, late 2013) with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2GB video card running El Capitan. I initially connected my monitor via the Mini Displayport to HDMI cable I bought from Monoprice a year or so ago. I do a lot of touring and corporate video work and its the same cable I use to connect my Mac into many video switchers that have an HDMI input, so its been a solid cable in a variety of setups. With this monitor, it wouldnt work properly at 1080p (red dots everywhere) and at 1080i it wasnt syncing properly and was shifting up and down (jittering, is probably more accurate). I grabbed a standard HDMI cable out of my gear bag and plugged that in instead and its working great at 1080p. It still has the same issue at 1080i, with the rapid up and down shifting. However, at 1080p its perfect. Unlikely some people who have complained about this monitor being way too bright, tis actually dark (on the Natural setting) than my rMBP screen at 100% and only slightly brighter than my late 2009 21.5 iMac that its also sitting next to. I havent had a chance to test with VGA or DVI yet since I dont have the correct Apple adapters at home. Response Time is best set to Standard for normal use. When I set it to Advanced or Ultra Fast I get trailing on my mouse cursor. I have Dynamic Contrast off. Contrast is set to 60 and Brightness is set to 100. My home office has natural light filtered through blinds with the windows behind my screens rather than behind me, so there isnt really any glare. I dont see any reflection on the screen of the lamp that is behind me like I can on my iMac screen. The color matching seeing fairly close to my MacBook Pro screen. When I set my background to solid white or solid black, they are both fairly even and I dont see any bleeding or obvious color issues.

> 24 hourI needed a replacement for my high-end 4:3 Philips monitor. The replacement needed to have VESA mount provisions so I could reuse the adjustable VESA mount on the Philips. I also wanted reasonable sounding built-in speakers. Ive spent considerable time using the VX2452MHs on-screen adjustments, but the text quality and contrast fall short of the Philips performance. My assessment has not changed after ten days of use. Other than that, the image is good and graphics and streaming videos look good. The sound out of the speakers is OK, but just lacking the fullness of even small external speakers. No surprise there, however the speaker volume with the PC and monitor controls fully high is a medium level at best and certainly never loud. Not acceptable if you plan on being more that a desks width away from the monitor. One last thing is that the diagonal is 24-1/2 not 24 if that matters to you (The vertical screen dimension is the same as a 19-inch 4:3 monitor, and 1/2 shorter than a 21-inch 4:3).

> 24 hourThe picture overall is quite amazing. Had to set the brightness and contrast to 50 / 50 at set up because it was blinding when first turned on. The darks and brights are great. HOWEVER... there is a very annoying back light that beams through on the right side. Since I do a lot of graphic and video editing, I need t see everything for what it really is to properly do my editing and color corrections, etc. This will be useful as a side monitor to just use for side stuff but for a main monitor, not good for what I do. Update: Amazon is amazing! Called about the issue and in less than a minute they put in to ship for a replacement and was done! 2 days later got the replacement and the image is amazing. A great monitor! Amazon... thank you for the best customer service on the planet!!!
