OK. So there are a million reviews on this little gem. And whats one more. Well, for starters, I am basically trying to kill this thing. However I do have some precautions. Here is the deal. I have wanted an excuse to buy one of these things for YEARS. Why? Because well, Im a guy and I like it HOT!! Why else?? Well, you could say to add another tool to my arsenal! Yep That would be appropriate, however not all together accurate. My original reason was to clean the brushed aluminum rims on my motorcycle that seem to inevitably be encrusted with a permanent black pate of brake dust. I have scrubbed those damn things for HOURS and nothing seems to actually do it. However. Spending nearly $100 just to clean the rims on my bike.. yeah. Thats not gonna fly. The congressional blockage is thrown in every time and no-sir-re Not for this boy. Fast forward almost 15 years to current day. My family and I moved into an apartment that we knew was short term, however needed something immediate due to some rather unfortunate circumstances. But this is about the steamer.. Remember the steamer (said in my best Arlo Guthrie Folk voice) So the apartment. Oh yeah. So little did we know upon moving in that the landlord was subletting the inner walls of this dump to some rather un-welcome and un-wanted guests. Bed Bugs.. Yeah. I know. GROSS!! Not to mention just an all out pain in the vent! So you guessed it, we loaded up the truck and avoided Beverly. Road that is... We got out of dodge, we blew that clambake, made like a tree and left. Ok so that didnt work. but we did get the hell out of there and frankly wanted to make sure we left the guests behind. (Kinda like skipping out on them in the middle of the night) We left a fair amount of our furniture there, beds, couches, etc.. However there were some things that either had sentimental value, or we simply did not have the spare scratch to replace. we did a TON of research and discovered that these little buggers meet their Hemiptera maker at about 122 degrees Fahrenheit. I thought about simply breathing on all of them, but turns out they LIKED that. So we opted for some chemical assistance in some cases, some ground up fossils in others, and the almighty steamer for the bulk of it. Wait.. We were talking about the steamer, werent we.. Sorry, I digress. So we order this little gem and figure what the heck. Maybe it will work. well we steamed everything. and I mean EVERYTHING.. Somethings 3 or 4 times. The corners of every book case, dresser, drawers, under the desks, you name it, we steamed it. and I will be damned. THEY DIED!! IT WORKED!!!! So since we had this thing around, we might as well experiment at cleaning things: Counters Check Sinks Check Coffee Pots Check Toilets Check Dishwasher Check Fans Check (Although some of you were a little steamed at being steamed) Cats Nope Windows Check (Oh yeah, and BTW.. It works KILLER on glass. Steam it up, scrub it a little and wipe it down) Popcorn Machine Check Floors Check Walls Check Kids Check (They whine a little bit too) Coolers Check Refrigerators Check Freezer Check OK I am sure there was more, but I am running out of valid memory. So Monday my son goes into his High School to help setup his shop for the year. (He is a culinary student) and low and behold the outgoing class for the spring left them some rather entertaining presents. Things that were unbelievable at growing mold. So he calls me and asks if he can borrow the steamer to help clean up the kitchen. of course I agreed, well because I am trying to kill it of course. So last night I get a call from one of the chefs, asking me where I bought it, and how much it was. This thing tore up the mold like it had a personal vendetta against it. Cleaned things up to the point that they looked almost new again and between this and a little bleach the odors were gone, and the stainless was back to highly acceptable condition once again. So you ask. (or maybe you dont) Would you recommend this to a friend? - Tough question. I believe I would recommend it to a friend, because I want to keep mine all for me. Would you buy another one? - Only after crying because this one died. Is there anything you DONT like about it? - Well, yes. it should have a sight glass for the water level or an auto off at low level. - There could be a return water line in the hose. Where if it sits for a length of time the steam in the hose turns back into water no big deal, just have to have a place to squirt it. So all in all, I would have to say I think this is a great product and should be considered for a variety of uses. Thanks for reading. OH I almost forgot. this thing cleans those motorcycle rims like NOBODYS business. :)

Weve all seen the infomercials... Effortless instant cleaning! If you expect this, you are in for a rude surprise! Bit if you use it for the right things, it IS a big help. BEFORE YOU START: The steam is LOUD, especially in close quarters! I use the earmuff hearing protectors I use for lawn mowing & shooting. It really helps! Without it my ears are ringing after just a few minutes. The steam mop works well on hard floors, but be sure to run the steam through until ALL water leaves the tube before you put the cloth on or is just gets soaked. When you start with a clean dry cloth (ANY will work, microfiber is best, followed by terrycloth) it IS fairly effortless to clean all but the dirtiest floors. They are dry in seconds unless you have a spot you used a lot of steam on. Where this really shines is using the power jet with either the plastic or bronze brush. With those I got shmutz from cracks & crevices I never even realized were dirty, like all our baseboards! It helped clean our range a LOT. I get grease & dirt from out of places I really thought I had cleaned well! With the plastic brush tip I was able to clean all the grout and seams around the bath to the point that they looked much brighter, and the soap scum came off of all the tile! But it DID take a lot of scrubbing on my part, both with the tip and with a nylon brush. I used it to clean out the tracks on all of our windows, getting out years of dirt. CON: The glass squeegee was a big disappointment. While it did remove most of the grease & dirt, it left behind so much water that I still had to dry them, NOT like the commercials. There is no on board storage for anything other than the 2 jet tip brushes. DONT lose the tiny funnel, it really IS the easiest way to fill the tank. The cord is short, so I bought a 10 3prong grounded extension cord. Without it Id have been spending more time plugging back in & waiting to reheat. PRO: Besides the above, this unit is 1500watt and holds 48oz of water. This compares to the 500watt 6oz to 1000watt 15oz toys Id tried before. This also has nearly twice the pressure of the cheapies, and that works to blast away all the dirt I was cleaning from all those tiny places! I like cleaning without any chemical odor or residue. I did try adding a few ounces of white vinegar, seemed to help. As long as you do your part, it will help you get better cleaning done in less time.

Amazing little machine. I got it to clean out my wifes car and I was amazed at how good it worked! The best part is you dont need chemicals or any type of cleaners to mix up to put in it. It gets the job done with just a brush and the steam itself!! Its very easy to use. Easy to store too.

I wish I thought to take a before photo, but I got so excited while I was cleaning that I didnt stop! Id been searching far and wide for a cleaning device that really gets in and cleans the grime that mops and floor buffers dont get. This is the one baby! Not only did my grout actually look brown before this photo, but this is the incredible part...We had gold grout stains from our wall grout on the floor since it was installed. Nothing I did ever got rid of it, not paint thinner, not scrubbing with a razor, not any cleaner. And unexpectedly this steamer got the stain grout off the floor! Im in love

We bought this steamer in order to help with the removal of wallpaper from several rooms in our home. Based on several days of use so far heres what we think: The Good: Using this steamer beats using chemicals hands down at a price far less than either using chemicals or renting a steamer if you have a large removal area or will need a steamer for more than a couple of weekends. Depending on how many layers of wallpaper and the substrate (for us it was either bare plaster or paint over plaster; worst case was 3 layers of wallpaper on a bare plaster surface, best case was a single layer of wallpaper on a painted surface) you have its reasonable to expect youll be able to remove 15-25 sq. ft. of wallpaper per tank. Between steaming and scraping each tank of distilled water lasted ~ 1 to 1-1/2 hours. The wallplate attachment fits reasonably well and flush to the surface. While removing wallpaper is never fun it was great to be able to peel off wallpaper in large sections instead of having to chip away at it when we used chemicals. The Bad: When using the wallplate for the first time after filling the tank a gush of hot water precedes the steam. Thats not a bad thing when youre working 2-3 or higher on the wall (the hot water simply soaks into the wallpaper and loosens it up) but if youre closer to the floor it can cause a stream of very hot water to soak your floor (not very desirable and possibly damaging). Luckily this effect becomes less pronounced at the tank empties. While the wallplate does effectively steam off wallpaper youll find that a fair bit of steam escapes from the uneven contact of the plate with the wall surface. A better design would include a foam border to enhance the seal between the wallplate and the working surface to better concentrate the steaming effect. Lastly, there is no place to attach the wallplate for safekeeping during the periods when youre scraping. There were several points where we had to use a stepladder to work on the upper portions of the wall and there was no way to safely secure the hose/wallplate when we were done steaming. The manual states that the wallpaper attachment should be pointing bottom side up when not in use to avoid accidentally steaming the floor. What they didnt consider is that, in that configuration, if the trigger were accidentally engaged that a blast of steam would go straight in the air...maybe into someones face...with potentially dire results. The design of the unit should be modified to include a way to afix the steamer handle to the case with the attached tool facing downward and away to prevent accidental discharge. The design should also include a positive safety lock in the trigger mechanism to prevent accidental discharge as well. Suggestions: When using this tool to remove wallpaper weve found it helpful to use a spray bottle containing hot water and wet the wall surface while youre waiting the 20 minutes or so for the steamer to get to operating temperature. The extra water helps loosen the wallpaper and enhances the effect of the steamer, especially when the tank start to run dry. Overall this is a good and very useful steamer. Once the wallpaper job is done well still be able to use it for multiple other cleaning uses :-).

This has good pressure and work very well to clean with its steam. But i had a problem with the cap of the water reservoir, somehow the metal seal twisted the o ring that seals it and it did not seal properly so it was losing steam there. I had to go to a specialty store to find a similar o ring adapted to high temperature. It took me a while to find the right one, some were thinner some were thicker others were not suited for high temp. So I have to spend time and money to replace it, but once i solved the problem it has worked well. They have to improve that.

This is a powerful, versatile, and use friendly steamer and Im a little upset because I may return it. Heres the problem, the tank capacity is great holding 40oz of water at a time but Im using this at my detail shop and we go through an average of 20 cars a day in the summer. Once your low on water the tank must be depressurized and then you can open the reservoir to fill water. Thereafter itll take 9 min before its ready to use again. Again if your using this for a retail home setting do not shy away from this machine, its a beast. Just wish there was another way to add water to this tank. Im going to stop give it 5 stars because it has everything you need for most use cases and it does it well

I bought this to clean an old home that we are renovating. It was neglected and then abandoned. This thing gets in every nook and cranny. Ive used it on ceilings, beautiful moldings with creases and crevices, old windows/frames and sills we are restoring, floors, plumbing, wallpaper and walls, you name it. I love this thing!! Made a big job very easy to tackle! I was debating on spending thus much, but for the time it saved me, its worth every penny!
