Write speed is very slow, I get only 250 MBps max, ..and frequently goes down to single digit MBps transfer rates.. I used multiple laptops, with very high speed performing ones. We got another brand SSD, which consistently gave above 400 MBps for the same USB C external drive enclosure (which was rated for 10 GBps). Read speed is decent you can get upto just over 1 GBps, however write is not comparable for the money paid. As a backup drive, I need fast and consistent write speed. Not giving the value to me, or may be inconsistent quality.

No issues out of the box. Currently attached to my pi plex server. As with any storage it could always use more capacity. Happy and would buy more/again.

I have converted all of my hard drives over to solid state. So far, these have worked well.

I have a three year old PC with a 1TB HDD and it has been feeling it’s age. The WD SDD was intended as an upgrade to the biggest bottleneck in my system and is has delivered. After installing, I downloaded the Acronis drive migration/cloning tool from the Western Digital website and has my old drive clones in half an hour. Windows and my Steam games load super fast now; SSD makes a huge difference.
