Western Digital 500GB WD Blue SN550 NVMe Internal SSD - Gen3 x4 PCIe 8Gb/s, M.2 2280, 3D NAND, Up to 2,400 MB/s - WDS500G2B0C

Paid $105 each at the time. My laptop has two nvme 3.0x4 and one sata 2.5mm ssd. Making the sn550 1tb options the ideal choice for me since the price is good enough and the read/write speed at 2400/1900. I installed them and they work no problem, absolutely none. The one on the top in picture replaced an oem Samsung 960 128gb nvme which came with the laptop. The laptop itself came with screws already installed so I wasnt short on anything. Installed windows 10 pro and laptop drivers and applications/downloads on the one below in photo. The one on top has games on it only. The sata ssd is also a western digital drive, it is a wd green 240gb for work and labs with differrnt OSes and compatible apps installed. The specs for the laptop are 16gb ram, 8750h i7 6 core 12 thread cpu and avgtx 1060 powering a 144hz Ips display. I also got the western digital software that reads all the drives properly, accurately giving temperature and wear readouts etc. Im set for a very very long time with this machine as it does a bit of everything extremely well. Heavy apps like handbrake, photoshop, linux machine, gaming at above 60fps. The drives work so far and Ive not found any problems with them. My only qualm is that they didnt come in a 2tb format else I would have 4tb nvme instead of 2tb.

I bought this as a secondary drive on my new laptop. It already had a WD Blue 500GB, but since it is a gaming laptop and I know I was getting Microsoft Xbox Game Pass for PC, I kind of needed the extra space. The performance is top-notch. Everything is nearly instant. It took me 20 minutes to remove my laptops back panel, 2 minutes to install the WD Blue and screw it down, Then another 20 to replace the back panel. Seriously, it has almost 30 screws. The drive was recognized right away. I performed a quick format and started installing games. My next upgrade will be to PCIe Gen4 WB Blacks, but that will be a ways off. If youre on the fence about buying one of these, no matter the size, just hop on down and grab it. Youll be glad you did.

This hd is really fast and has an unbeatable price for this level of performance.

Pros: Plugged it in , so much faster than what I am used to. I am really happy so far. Overall, really good. Cons: None yet, though just installed.

No issues with this NVMe. I have built a few general purpose PCs using it as a boot (well the only) device and it works great for any PC build. However, for about $5 more maybe consider the older model Black sn750 that has better specs for not too much more money. Performance of the black will become more apparent with capacity 1TB and greater but at 500GB Blue is going to work just fine.
