Quality, and Easy to install

Good SSD for a great price. While there are much faster NVME drives out there, you cant go wrong with this price point, size, and speed. I ended up using this SSD in an external USB adapter. I thought my computer would be able to run it with a PCIE adapter, but unfortunately my system is just to old. However, this thing is blazing fast when running over USB C. I was able to add some games to it for some extra space and load times are so nice using this drive. I was skeptical being that Western Digital has always been a mechanical hard drive company and they hadnt done to much with SSDs until pretty recently. I was pleasantly surprised. Great drive, would recommend for primary drive as it is super fast.

I used it on a Macbook Air 2017 (A1466) with and adapter. Just use Internet Recovery (Command+Option+R) on my MB and reinstalled Mac OS Big Sur.

It needed bios update

This was the cheapest 500 GB SSD I could find new from a manufacturer that Id heard of. It works well in a Lenovo Legion 5 laptop. Benchmark as expected.

Paid $105 each at the time. My laptop has two nvme 3.0x4 and one sata 2.5mm ssd. Making the sn550 1tb options the ideal choice for me since the price is good enough and the read/write speed at 2400/1900. I installed them and they work no problem, absolutely none. The one on the top in picture replaced an oem Samsung 960 128gb nvme which came with the laptop. The laptop itself came with screws already installed so I wasnt short on anything. Installed windows 10 pro and laptop drivers and applications/downloads on the one below in photo. The one on top has games on it only. The sata ssd is also a western digital drive, it is a wd green 240gb for work and labs with differrnt OSes and compatible apps installed. The specs for the laptop are 16gb ram, 8750h i7 6 core 12 thread cpu and avgtx 1060 powering a 144hz Ips display. I also got the western digital software that reads all the drives properly, accurately giving temperature and wear readouts etc. Im set for a very very long time with this machine as it does a bit of everything extremely well. Heavy apps like handbrake, photoshop, linux machine, gaming at above 60fps. The drives work so far and Ive not found any problems with them. My only qualm is that they didnt come in a 2tb format else I would have 4tb nvme instead of 2tb.

It works juust fine.

Installed in my laptop, then placed the old drive in a drive case, then used Western Digital Adonis from their website to transfer a drive image across to the new drive. Everything went without a hitch. Drive is easy to install and fast. No drive issues so far (about one month since installation).
