> 3 dayWD Blue is a sweet spot for HD storage and I can highly recommend it with no compunction. Its very modestly priced (cheaper than WD black and samsung) and provides a great gb/$. These m.2. drives are my favorite since their release, super easy to install on your mobo, NO WIRES! Fast boot speeds concomitant with their price. Really really hard to beat WD Blues, 5/5.

Greater than one week1 star for switching parts without telling the consumers. “While the new SSD variant performs on-par with the old drive that WD actually sampled for review, once you exhaust the SLC NAND cache, performance craters from 610MB/s (as measured by THG) to 390MB/s (as measured by Expreview). The new drive offers just 64 percent of the performance of the old drive.“ (Western Digital Caught Bait-and-Switching Customers With Slow SSDs written by Joel Hruska)

Greater than one weekThe storage and speed of the drive for the price is very good. But…. I had a major hassle getting it to work on my MacBook Pro 13” Retina mid 2014. The SSD was not recognized. Not in Disk Utility or in Terminal. I ended up buying an external NVMe enclosure and installing MacOS in recovery mode on it that way then putting the SSD in the computer. I’ve heard of some people not having this issue so I’m not sure exactly what the issue was. My guess would be that it was a firmware thing. I did see on a Google search that someone said about doing the firmware update but it had to be done on a PC. Not an option for me. The SSD does appear to run a bit hotter and the battery life is drained a bit more too.

> 3 dayMy Dell 2 - 1 had a 250 Gig SSD in it and I wanted more storage. I did a lot of research and decided the WD SSD offered the best value for dollar spent. In terms of the installation it was super simple. I decided to do a completely clean install of Windows Pro so made a Windows Media install copy on a USB thumb drive. Honestly, the hardest part of the install was getting the aluminum back off the laptop. Once I got the back off, I simple pulled out the 250 Gig SSD and plugged in the new WD 500 Gig SSD. Put the back on; plugged in the thumb drive and turned the laptop on holding down F12. The thumb drive kicked in and that was pretty much it. It ran through the Windows install process and about 20 minutes later I had a new 500 Gig SSD up and running.. Thats all their was to it. I did purchase an SSD drive housing that I will use to reformat the 250 Gig drive and give it to my son for use as an external drive for his Mac Book Pro. All that said I have noticed that my Dell is booting up faster and running faster as well.

> 3 dayI bought the m.2 1gb variant as an upgrade for my wifes new laptop which had an additional storage slot. Installation was a breeze. Note that you may need to format the ssd so that your pc will recognize it. Just look up a YouTube video on that if youre unfamiliar with that. Its fairly simple. Great price for a quality m.2 at its storage compacity! Highly recommended!
