> 3 dayThese do seem to work well for reducing moisture in a car by a bit. However, I think the bag material definitely needs to be changed. During a recharge in the microwave one of the two bags had a hole melt into it on the bottom. Upon lifting it up to remove it from the microwave, it emptied the majority of the silica gel beads onto my counter and kitchen floor. These beads roll very far — theyre now throughout pretty much the entirety of my studio apartment. Be VERY cautious when removing these from the microwave! Im very disappointed with the bag bursting and that it didnt last very long at all. Ive only had these for 4 months and now one of the two is trash. I recharged them about twice a month.

> 3 dayWhen my Mother-in-law asked for DAMP RID, I envisioned the spills, burns, and mess associated with Calcium Chloride. I found this alternative, which weve appreciated. The monitoring method is great -- check the weight to see how much water the silica gel has picked. Previous reviews identified that its easy to melt the covering in the microwave, so I used the oven to recharge -- slow but effective.

Greater than one weekOnce the packets were full of moisture, I microwaved them for 8 minutes on a microwave-safe plate as directed. I did not notice a large hole had burned through the black casing, so when I removed the plate from the microwave with the packets on it, the burning hot silica beads fell all over me and my stove and floor. They burned my arms and 1 leg where my skin was exposed. (Not blistering burns, but burns that turned red and still hurt an hour later). Thank GOODNESS no child was nearby. I now have a huge mess to cleanup once the silica cools down and my burns no longer hurt too much to go clean up in there.

> 3 dayI live in Alaska and my cars both had moisture from my snowy feet to the point of having fogged up windows all the time. I put one of these packets in each car. No more fog!

> 3 dayBought 2 packs (500gr each) to use in the husbands Trailblazer SS, which has turned into a garage queen and stays parked and covered 90% of the time. Bought them mid November, and just now had to recharge them, as they had gotten to the 650gr limit. Used the microwave to dry them (follow the directions, and dont overdo it) and were off and running again. Theyve really helped with the dampness and odor in the TBSS, and were a great investment!

> 3 dayI could never get these things to work and keep any moisture out of my car in Wisconsin. I bought them because other people had said that they worked really well in different states and countries that are cold, but not here. I can’t recommend them because it just doesn’t do anything.

> 3 dayI used these desiccant packs for our old farm truck to pull out excess moisture. It worked pretty well, but when I recharged one in the microwave according to the instructions, it exploded and left a burned and charred mess everywhere.
