> 3 dayI am new to felting. This pad seems just right. I have made a little mouse and am working on a bunny. You can felt pieces on the pad and easily lift them off with no fibers coming off the pad. The size and depth of the pad are great too. I can see this lasting a long time. Good purchase!

> 3 dayGreat and easy to use!! Dont have to worry about the felting needle going through and sticking me in the leg. Only issue is the yarn sticking to it.

> 3 dayI am a 2D felting fool! Felting many hours every day Since deciding to try flat felting early in Feb. used foam mats previous to this one. This mat is very kind to your needles. Haven’t broken a needle since the mat arrived. It does collect wool on the surface, I scrape it off and save for gray when I need it for shadows and such. Def worth the $$$. If you felt a lot, buy this one! (I bought a different brand first and it was so stiff it broke my needles!). Stick with Woobuddy!

> 3 dayWhen I first started felting 9 months ago, I bought several mats. The black foam, white soy pad and a heavy wool pad. With each of those I experienced heavy permanent depressions, a lot of wool caught in them and eventually foam bits on my projects. I read reviews till I was blue in the face and finally settled on trying the small Woolbuddy (5.5 x 5.5). I found that from all the pads I have, I grab this one the most. I still use my heavy wool pad, depending on what I’m making, but the Woolbuddy is so much easier to keep clean and I do a lot less peeling my project away from it as I work. Now I’m planning on ordering the larger size and packing my old foam pads away. Heaven forbid me throwing anything away! ***A hint for felting beginners: when I started felting I really went to town stabbing the felt like a mad woman! While it helped curb my stress relief I did the most damage to my pads. So, I advise learning to stab with less force. It makes your pad last longer, protects your needles and your fingers!

> 3 dayAfter reading the reviews I was pretty excited for this to arrive. I’ve used it for two projects (flokati props for my newborn photo studio) and it works, but just barely. I had the brush style (Clover) that I loved but it’s just a bit too small for this type of flat work. I went with the Xlarge but it’s already showing weakness in the middle. It seems as thought it’s got some sort of frame around it but then the middle has too much give. Pretty disappointed with this purchase.

Greater than one weekI like it so much more than the foam mat,the work across the area I was doing seemed more consistent.

> 3 dayThis thick mat has been just what I was looking for, and I am pleased with my purchase. I did a lot of research before buying and it had great reviews and so I decided to splurge a bit and start my wool felting off right, and I am so glad I did. Here’s what I’ve found: -Even though I’m an armature spending a little more helped me relax and enjoy the process of learning. My first few days of felting, I’d used a mattress pad we had in storage and it was uncomfortable and I pricked myself multiple times and couldn’t relax because I was struggling with the mat. After getting the Woolbuddy, I could sit anywhere I wanted and feel comfortable that I wasn’t going to stick myself. -I followed a you tube reviewer’s advice and do light colors on the top side and dark colors in the bottom. Some color will stay in your mat. I made some red mushrooms and it dyed the area I was working red. I don’t think I’ll have any issues if I stick with the plan. -I purchased a lint remover to scrape off excess wool, because some gets left behind. I’m glad I did, it’s come in handy. After working I run it over the surface, picking up the bits left behind. -The quality is great. It’s thick enough, has a great amount of surface area and there are several fun color options. I chose the yellow, because I didn’t want something too light that would get discoloration quickly, and I thought the orange was an inviting enough color. I think I’d probably choose a gray if that had been an option, but I’m very happy with the purchase.
