Love the console! Just be aware that 500 GBs fills up fast, but you can get external storage for it which is lovely. Since I got the Battlefield bundle I might as well tell you the game is amazing as well. The story seems short but it keeps you on your toes, and gives you the feels. 100% recommend!

You know, I waffled around on what to buy...PS4 vs. XB1, as many of us do. I will stop the PC guys here and agree that there is a lot more power in systems with a PC, and I get it, but I as well as the kiddos like this platform so this was a preference thing, not a biggest, baddest, best, most powerful thing. We get it. Anywho, the PS4 is a good system in its own right with some keen highlights to it capabilities, the VR stuff, etc. Then again, so is the XB1. Both have come a long way (especially PS systems) from their start and I think there to be much more to come. I basically made the decision based on these things: Xbox Gold...you have to pay for either system online, but Gold is giving free games 2x monthly. PS4, not so much. Price...Xbox won with their deals around Black Friday/Cyber Monday, AND included a game. Storage...you can EASILY upgrade the internal drive with one of your choice as long as its a SATA II (I think that was the spec) as well as add an external, USB-powered HDD with a high-speed USB on the front as long as its 250+ GB in size. Familiarity...I did the switch from PS3 to X360 when 360 was around awhile and the Sony server hack basically disabled my PS3 for MONTHS...and it STILL wont connect; its now an expensive Blu-ray player. I am now very familiar with the Xbox Live and Xbox menus, though this new console has a learning curve (think almost as painful as Windows 8 from Windows XP/7, for example). Connectivity...this thing will fast-switch between your game, your Live feeds, your TV, and other things WHILE downloading updates, games, etc. Heck, it will do updates and download even after its off if you set it up to. Ive even played the PS4 version of Black Ops III on the PS4 and was quite happy with it, but it just doesnt get the (we care about our customer feel...or the illusion of such...it is a business) as the Live content does. Backwards compatibility...I can STILL play some of my older games so I dont get AS screwed at the game store dumping the lot on trade-in cash. Once I enabled the cloud storage feature I never used on my 360, my saves transfer over. My downloaded games on Live were also waiting on me in the store online to download which I had previously purchased or had a free monthly of on the 360. I will say the controllers and their bulk is interesting being very similar in feel to the 360; I wouldve thought we were due a small size reduction was in order now. I will also say that the Xbox updates continue...and you will have many to contend with upon initial start-up, but if you accept that and let it run overnight or while at work, youll be pleasantly surprised that youre ready to go when youre back on. The headset as well as the controllers are subjects to update as well, so everyone knows. I will also say that even the slim is a nice update already, but am curious as to why this wasnt first offered. Why put a giant 80s box in front of us ever again, ya know? Now, I had to get the white console (bummer for me) but the black ones didnt have the game I wanted or werent available when I made my purchase. Still, there are numerous online sources to buy skins for these things AND your peripherals; I bought from a favorite of mine (decalgirl), and recommend finding her site online, though Im sure some here on Amazon are quite nice as well. I have also noted a few weird glitches in games...now that may be game programming but could be the console, as well. Battlefield 1 that comes with this bundle is a digital copy and must be downloaded (a whopping 46 GB, I think), so be wary that youll be dealing with much larger and more expensive games...especially in the special editions, therefore do your research, have a fast broadband ready or a box of Snickers to eat while you wait, and lots of space ready for multiple games. Some of the special editions give you useless crap, in my opinion, so figure out if theyre worth the extra coin before you buy and are upset (one game I saw gave you something of a avatar and some different clothes in a game for an additional $25...no thanks). Recently, I downloaded (for free!) Murdered: Soul Suspect and am enjoying it as well as my Forza: Horizons. I have a few more and there were a bunch of trade-ins that I got for around $9-25--mostly on the cheaper side--which surprised me and I now have a small game collection for me in solitary or with my oldest who loves to race with me in some games, PLUS I have some old-school ones in a dual pack of Gears of War Ultimate Edition/Rare Replay I managed to find handy which has not only the premiere game but 30 other games in the Rare Replay such as Pro Am, Banjo Tooie, Battletoads, etc. which will be fun for us all to have a tournament on occasion. All this with one system is nice to have. Im one to be brand-blind, so this is just my opinion and I say this system is quite practical for many things. I hope they unlock more potential out of this system one day where it supports 3D but Im happy for now and Im rid of a failing 360 or useless PS3. Most importantly, do your research and choose whats right for YOU.

500gb is quite a small size but you can always get a external hard drive to store games on. Besides that it’s a great product and an excellent gaming system!

The Xbox One S has worked really well since I got it. I expiated there to be some crashing, and there is. Happens if a game or sometimes an app are left open when the system is in sleep mode overnight or overwhelmed by graphics [rare] Nothing to bad at all. To cut down on this problem, simply quit out of all apps that may be open in the background.

The Xbox One S 500GB Console - Battlefield 1 Bundle includes: Xbox One S 500GB Console, full game download of Battlefield 1, one month of EA Access, Xbox Wireless Controller, HDMI cable (4K Capable), Power cable and a 14-day Xbox Live Gold Trial.
