First time doing anything like this. Tablet screen was shattered completely Quick YouTube video Took me about 30-40 min not to difficult Powered on perfect all buttons worked WiFi keys etc no dead spots I’m very happy with this purchase I will definitely be buying if my kids break the tablet again !!! This is the second time I have replaced the digitizer on my 5th gen iPad. The first was a different brand and it worked great for about 2 months. Then it developed ghost touches and within about a week after the first symptom it had gotten so bad that it was unusable. I replaced it with this Zentop digitizer. Replacing the screen the second time around is much easier than the first. First, removing the screen is much easier. No heat gun required. Second and most importantly you have been through it before and you know what to expect. Seriously, it took me at least 2-3 hours to replace it the first time. The second time I couldnt really figure out how it took me so long. 1) Pop the digitizer out. 2) take out the 4 screws holding the LCD screen and lift it up. 3) Take the 3 screws out holding the cables in. 4) pop the cables out from the main body. 5) remove the home button from the new digitizer and replace it with the button from the old digitzer. (I use a couple of drops of B-7000 glue to hold the home button in). 6) put it all back together. I use some Kaisi 3 mm double sided tape along the right side where the cables connect to provide a little better adhesion. I think this is a good idea. So I got this Zentop installed in short order. Before I pressed the digitizer in place I gave it a quick once over, making sure that both the screen and the home button functioned correctly. I brought the home button over from my original digitizer so that the touch ID function worked. Once satisfied that it was working correctly I peeled the backing from the tape and pressed it in place. But after doing that I quickly discovered that the digitizer was not fully functional. the bottom inch or so just did not respond. I played around with it for a bit before I just decided that it needed to be returned and replaced. I got on the Amazon site, went to my orders and clicked on product support or something similar next to the Zentop order. I described my issue and requested a return. I was told that the product would ship immediately and that I would receive it in a couple of days. This was about 6:00 PM on a Friday. On Saturday I returned home sometime around 4:00 PM and found the replacement screen had already been delivered. This time there were no issues and I have been using it for about 2 weeks without any issues. I gave it a 4 stars because of the initial defect. I would have given it less than that if it wasnt for the stellar replacement performance.

I purchased this screen because it came with the home button and camera bracket installed. I paid a little more but I figured saving the hassle of moving the button / bracket was worth the extra cost. The screen fit perfectly the adhesive is already on the screen which was nice. Watch a few different videos on you tube and make sure you find one that applies to your specific iPad. Most importantly take your time and don’t force anything. Very happy with the results!

Product DID NOT work as intended.

I purchased this product twice, easy to install, however way too fragile. I have my ipad in an armor case, it dropped last night from my desk to my carpeted wooden floor and the screen cracked again.

I did not like this product at all, installation was easy for someone that knows how to replace digitizers but as soon as I put the case on & after using for a while. During the first day of replacing there was a crack in the screen from dropping it on CARPET & it wasn’t even dropped high up just super low to the ground. Very disappointed because I was expecting it to be fine after installing a case & a screen protector. Also where the crack is it is sensitive to the top & the lcd inside is perfectly fine so it’s just the digitizer.

Good quality glass. Must be careful when install. Glass can beak. Would recommend over other brand.

I think the problem is that no matter how hard you work at removing the old screen, the mounting surface is no longer perfectly flat and smooth. Either theres leftover adhesion that doesnt come off, or maybe a rough surface from scraping with a blade. Then those tiny imperfections make it easy for the glass to crack when minor bumps and drops happen. I spent a lot of time on it because i knew this would be an issue. I thought it was pretty clean and smooth. My son was using it for school, and while sitting flat on the table, fell over onto its face gently, with a nice protective case on it, and still cracked. Therefore I wouldnt recommend replacing the screen unless it sits in one place on a stand and never moves. Otherwise it worked great and looked great for a few weeks.
