I only used very little to fill up an aquarium. You add water and it expands. I still have a whole bucket left and I ordered this 3 months ago

Its cheap and easy to use. I actually store the excess in a cleaned out, sealed cat litter tub. You just add water and let it expand. The hermit crabs like it better than the sand for digging and molting. I only have to change it every 4-6 months. Its good for retaining moisture, sometimes too good. Had my hermit crabs for 6 years now and they seem to like it.

The crabs love it. We have 5 and the all buried themselves and molted for a month as soon as I put it in. The love to dig. Have a big bucket to mix. It grows 5 times its size.

This soil has too much moisture for your hermit crabs. It created a fungus and both of my hermit crabs died, I had one for a year and one for 5 months. I had the soil in the tank for less than a month. Do not buy for hermit crabs

Its a lot of fiber! It takes a while to break it down and dry it out and it can be messy if you havent used it before, but its a perfect product!

Soil is perfect for my hermit Apollo, he loves it. One block was more than enough for my tank i actually have a ton left over which I will be using for a separate tank when i travel with him. Great product and great price. Super easy to set up and use!
