> 3 dayI like that it was easy to put up, however, I would of prefer d a metal insert as I am 81 and it would have been easier for me, my grand son ordered this for me, it works is all I care.

> 3 dayI discovered this product when I did a search for portable AC window kits that worked with crank windows. It was a DIY blog that suggested this as an option and so I had to see for myself. As a renter I needed something that would not involve drills and affixing plexi glass to windows so this was my best option. So with the installation video on repeat I was able to figure out how to install the kit no problem. As a whole the window kit absolutely serves its purpose the only downside is that if you live in a very city, i.e. traffic and construction noise etc. it is loud. I cant leave the hose in and window open with the kit because it is like having the window open essentially. Even when the exhaust hose in and the AC unit is on, I do hear street noise which is a bummer. Anyway, if you live somewhere quiet, this is a great option. If you live somewhere busy, itll work but note that you will hear outside noise so long as the window is open.

> 3 dayThis thing is extremely ugly and will make you look poor to passersby, but if you need it, you need it. Youve got a funky window and want to exhaust something through it -- this will get the job done, albeit not quietly. Flippity, flappity. But central air just costs too much. Recommend.

> 3 dayThe Hoomee window kit is ingenious! During August I lived in a dorm at the University of Washington for a post-graduate program. The old dorms had no AC and terrible ventilation. Further, the air was filled with smoke from wildfires. Air conditioning and avoiding open windows was a must. Without the hoomee window kit I would have been out of luck and would have hauled a very heavy and expensive AC unit for nothing. The window attachments that came with my Black & Decker portable AC unit didn’t work at all. The hoomee directions were easy to follow and worked very well with the push-out windows. After 2 weeks, the adhesive-backed Velcro came off with minimal effort and showed no signs it had ever been stuck to the window frame. Living in an old yucky dorm in my late 30s was hard enough but I wouldn’t have survived without this handy product.

> 3 dayI bought this after freezing all winter to accommodate a vent in an outward-opening casement window in my basement. Prior to buying this, the room would be FREEZING with the window cracked just enough to accommodate the 4 vent, even with blinds drawn and insulated blackout curtains. This thing is incredibly effective at keeping out the cold! The material of the seal is thin, but it can be 30°F out and my room is as warm as if the window were shut. Very impressed. Im still using the blinds and curtains for light control-- YMMV if you used it in a bare window. Havent owned it through hot temperatures yet, but so far very pleased with the purchase. Install was easy. Have not noticed any water or critters getting in, despite it being in a deep window well.

> 3 dayI have never written an Amazon review before but this thing is an amazing find. We’ve had casement windows and no AC my whole life. Last year I finally decided to get a portable AC and rigged it up with plastic taped to a screen, which worked well for maybe a couple weeks before it started falling apart. This year I found the Hoomee window seal and I think it’s going to solve my problem. I just installed it, and it required a few modifications for my window but even with that it didn’t take very long and it was pretty straightforward (with the Youtube tutorial). It has been working great so far in the first day, but I gave it 4 stars for now and I will update later in the summer when it’s hotter and the thing has been up for a while (for context I live in CT, so not much constant heat but a lot of humidity and the occasional heat wave in the upper 90s)

> 3 dayIt took us a few minutes to figure out the instructions but after watching a quick video, we were able to set this up quickly. It works as advertised and fit well on our outward opening crank window. It has also stood up to some wind and rain storms. Very happy with this purchase. It would be very easy to move to a different window if we wanted to move our portable A/C unit elsewhere in the house.

04-06-2025Cant really goof it up. If youve sewn material it helps understand how the fabric flows. You can reposition if needed. The video sold this for me and the instructions are worth reading several times. My window has the crank on the frame which is different. Good thing the instructions that I followed mentioned outside opening windows and I figured out to put the sticky velcro tape on the narrow perpendicular frame along with putting it on the window frame. Is working great and really a godsend. We needed this in an exercise room in this awful heat when our air conditioner went out (for good) so we bought a mobile air conditioner. We will closing it often after using the room and it will allow the hose to pull out and close the window easily with the zipper. I dont know how it could be designed better unless an accordion type rigid custom thing was made for your window. And then more security issues. So we love it!
