We have an old house with a basement that lets in a LOT of moisture. After moving in it was like a damp cave down there, so we got two Vellgoo dehumidifiers that we keep running 24/7 and its dry as a desert down there now. They have a clean, simple design, are pretty quiet and easy to set up. Given how nice they look Id have no problem keeping them in a main room of a house, FWIW. I had an issue with one a few months after buying it where it was displaying a persistent error code, so I emailed Vellgoo, and after a bit of diagnosing they sent me a replacement immediately, from noticing the problem and emailing their customer support to receiving the replacement was probably 3 or 4 days. 10/10 customer service, would highly recommend their products!

So far everything has been working nicely, the unit is very quiet, and has been doing a very significant job of keeping my basement dry. If there is one small recommendation, the hose drain could have been built into the unit and not have to be installed, but that’s just me nitpicking.

quiet and love the smaller size with humidity control features

I’ve only been running this unit for 5 days now. But in those 5 days it has managed to keep the humidity in my 2200sqft home at around 55% which is an extremely noticeable difference from the 70%+ it had been consistently sitting at. I run it pretty much non stop and empty canister about once every 10-12 hrs. Its super quiet and doesn’t put off nearly as much hot air as I was expecting. I am very happy so far with this unit and I hope it continues to perform well over time.

I got the 4,500 sf model. I was *very* impressed with how well the unit was packed, the thoughtful thank you from Vellgoo, the ability to extend the warranty an additional year with on-line registration, and the easy-to-understand user manual. I have it in my finished basement where the humidity isnt sky-high, but high enough to sometimes give it that dank smell, especially with the cats litter box down there. The unit looks well made. Easy set-up. Collection bucket slides out easily. I fired it up after letting it sit for 24 hrs as instructed; its very quiet compared to other more expensive brands Ive had, and it lowered the humidity by over 10% within just over an hour. Longevity has been an issue with the other brands Ive had (Frigidaire, GE) - time will tell if this one goes the distance. Having the two-year warranty at no additional cost gives me peace of mind in that respect.
